I'm with this dude. Dorsey is a homerun for all the reasons he's stated. Added bonus . . . every 5star QB in the nation would want to be coached up by Mr. 38 and 2. Take.
Guarantee most all of the 5 star QB’s of this cycle do not know who Ken Dorsey is, I know it hurts to hear but it’s the **** truth. All he accomplished was before they were even born

Think we need to hire Dorsey based on our QB room alone. With the talent we have with our current QBs on the roster, you know Dorsey will coach them up and develop them. A top QB turns a good team into a great one

That’s why I thought the Pipo bit went too long. A great follow up would be have you made a decision on the OC and DC yet.

What is your philosophy on announcing hires if the potential coach still has games to coach whether it be college or pros?

Are you trying to announce the coordinators at the same time?

Its definitely planned and shows Cristobols attention to detail and squeezing out an advantage from even the little things. If you announce all 5 of your hires on the same press release, you are on espn.com's college football front page for 1 day. if you spread it out over 5 days, then you are on the front page each day for a new piece of news. It keeps the brand out there during this recrooting cycle. my 2 cents.

Dorsey would be a home run hire even if he wasn’t a UM legend. How can you not want a guy with his experience? I don’t understand this crap with some of y’all. Brady didn’t have half the experience Dorsey does before he went to LSU and look what happened. Give me a guy who has developed QB’s at the highest level and has had a ton of input in game planning. I think you’re putting way too much stock in the “play calling” aspect.

It’s not worth the argument but I’m gonna do it anyway
I'm not sure why this bogus "people only like Dorsey because he went to UM" argument keeps getting recycled.

Talented and rising assistant coaches are identified all the time. In college and in the NFL. At some point, every coach has to take a particular job "for the first time". The only people insisting that "prior experience" is a non-negotiable are our fans, while the person who does the actual hiring is Mario.

It's just bizarre. In one breath, Dorsey-haters bring up every disqualifying argument possible as to why Dorsey should not be a first-time OC at Miami...and then in the next breath, they swear that Dorsey is about to get an NFL OC job, just as soon as the NFL dominoes fall, and as a result, we should not hire him.

So who is crazier? The multiple NFL teams that seem poised to make Ken Dorsey a first-time OC, and AT THE NFL LEVEL? Or our Dorsey-hating fans, who cannot tolerate the possibility that Mario would consider hiring a first-time OC, and AT THE COLLEGIATE LEVEL?

Again, unlike some, I have not advocated for Dorsey to be hired. There are a couple of other guys that I think would work as well. And I think Dorsey might be hired if a couple of other guys go elsewhere. But Dorsey is NOT "unqualified", and he is NOT "attractive", or getting an offer, solely because of his diploma. He might ACCEPT a college job at UM solely because of his diploma, but that is different.

This board is commingling components of Ken Dorsey

Is he a rising star in the coaching ranks, that includes nfl and ncaa? Everything points to yes

Is he the best option for Miami to hire today as it’s OC? I’d argue no for reasons already stated throughout the almost 400 pages in the thread

Both points can be true

I love Ken Dorsey

But come on now, if he played and won a championship at Texas vs Miami, with his current post NCAA resume, your attraction for Dorsey as our next OC would be 1/1,000 of what it is now
He could have gone to Mississippi State Penitentiary, doesn’t change the fact he made Cam Newton’s bum a$$ into an MVP-caliber QB, and turned a raw Josh Allen into a Top tier NFL QB.

Again I’m not even pro Dorsey as option 1, but find another argument other than “he doesn’t call plays”.

Something that there’s no argument for: he’s better for TVD’s development than most OC candidates out there, heck maybe the best.

You ask "can Dorsey design plays and offensive strategy" .. THAT has been one of his functions in his two NFL positions. He HAS participated in game planning .. that is offensive strategy and play selection to exploit an opponents weaknesses. THAT is one of the reasons he is so highly regarded in the NFL community. He turned down two OC positions for the 2021 season .. because they weren't the right situations for him. He didn't want to walk into a total **** show like Brady did when he took the job with Rhule.
are coaches really designing plays or just copying others? you know they say how the NFL is a copy-cat league. I would say the same for college for the most part. sure there are different philosophies but it once you decide on your identity/philosophy it all comes down to play calling and selection. my gut tells me Dorsey can handle play calling and selection.

God **** it

Advocating for an OC that has a proven track record as a play caller and college recruiter does not diminish anything that Dorsey has done as a NFL QB coach
