Yes he did and this year my $ is on him being an OC at either Chicago or Buffalo because he is the #1 candidate to replace Nagy at Chicago.
Yea he’s gonna be an OC somewhere. I’d bet he stays in Buffalo. Personally I hope Minnesota hires Daboll. Playing Fields twice a year in that system scares me.

He’s clearly been groomed to fill Daboll’s shoes in Buffalo. If coaches who have been around Saban, Belichick and Reid think highly enough of the guy and his abilities, why would turn him away? Doesn’t make sense.
You kind of answered your own question - you're right it doesn't make sense. CIS doesn't have a lot of sense - but it has bare-chested opinions and violent keyboard warriors who want attention.

Is Dorsey my first choice? No. Is he still a really strong option? Yes.

How does one ” get turned down again for a oc job“ when the season is still going on? If he leaves Buffalo for Miami he’ll be leaving before theres a chance to interview for oc jobs. Miami nor Mario could wait to the end of the season to get an answer. You're speaking in generalities rather than reality.

Are you able to list current names for OC/DC or is original post same names???

Dorsey is one of those guys that could be a Dave Kingman like homerun hire. He's been around the NFL a looong time, and even as a player people said he was making rosters off of his intelligence alone. People always said it was like having another coach on the sideline. He could bring advantages that most college OCs can only dream of. Pulling Dorsey in from the NFL would be big.

Is there a chance he won't work out? Sure. It's a chance I'm willing to take. Not because he played here, but because he's spent nearly two decades in the NFL, and has always, always been considered a student of the game.

we didn’t wait until the season was over to start convos with mario’s people. daboll and dorsey already have an indication whether teams have high interest in them or not.

you all have all said repeatedly that dorsey loves the nfl and is “in line” to be an oc. if he truly thought he is going to get an oc job he would not be coming here.

I would just say this, because sometimes the non-UM-alums don't understand some of the thoughts that the UM-alums have. In much the same way that Mario was influenced to return to UM by his love of the school and his time spent at UM, so too could Dorsey feel the same things. Now, quantifying that? I'm not sure, but it's not just "hey, I'm about to get an NFL OC job, F UM". Dorsey would strongly consider UM, and there is even a logical argument that IF HE IS READY TO BE AN OC, it might be "less risky" to start his play-calling journey in college, rather than the NFL.

Again, I'm not saying this with certainty, I'm just pointing out that there may be more than one way of analyzing the options here.

He literally got interviewed for just that last season.
He turned down 2 OC job offers for the 2021 season. He is looking for the right opportunity .. right roster .. right staff .. doesn't want to step into a mess like Brady did when he took the job with Rhule and that **** show.

When you also consider UM is paying well now, it makes the decision a little easier. We're not talking UM salaries from 2013 anymore.

That whole situation still upsets me to this day. I lived in that building a few years earlier as an undergrad, though I was in my third year of law school when it happened. Just heartbreaking. For years, we (UM Student Government) had been asking for more lighting and security in that area of campus. Who knows, maybe nothing could have prevented what happened, but those 1940s buildings were so **** unsafe, in every regard. Happened about 6 months after the OJ verdict, people can draw their own conclusions about the similarities, I always have.

I remember it was pretty somber and earie on campus that day. lived in Eaton at the time but just walking by early in the morning was very sad. if my memory is correct, it occurred on a Sunday (or at least that's when everything was found).

There is also a respect issue .. pretty sure from comments I have read that Dorsey has respect for Mario and what he wants to put together .. there is no way that Dorsey would have considered the OC position under Manny for example .. with Mario it could be a reality.
