The countdown to Monday begins. Every day after just hurts us more and more - not really anything to wait on other than potential negotiations now. The pro coach excuse is just that as well, as we’ve seen guys get hired like the Chiefs LB coach, plenty of o line coaches, etc.

And yes, It’s ok to be the last school the hire guys (Manny hire should have all taught us this). Not really complaining about that part - just that eventually you do have to hire guys, and preferably before the dead period ends.

If nothing happens Monday or early in the week (with coordinators), we’re either nfl hunting and in negotiations still, something went wrong, or we’re going completely out of the box (Chip Kelly buyout pipe dream?).

Not necessarily.

Idk if yall saw this thread yesterday, but it outlines that Mario usually takes quite a while with his hires.

If there’s no announcement next week, it’s because the coordinators haven’t been hired yet.

When did UM officially announce this? Could very well happen that day, but it just seems like that kind of mindset just sets you up for disappointment and anger. And this "every day hurts us" is BS. It only hurts the fan who's dying to know.

By the way, I don't think this Arkansas offense is Briles's preferred offense. Baylor/ Briles were primarily known for their vertical passing game (though they did run a ton to keep teams honest). Nobody in the country chucked the ball deep and ran 4 verts as much as them. Which makes what he is doing at Arkansas more impressive. He's obviously adapting to the talent has and picked up some things from Pitman. Good article on Baylor/ Briles.

Finally somebody who can see the forest through the trees.

It's obvious that what Briles is doing at Arkansas isn't his true offense. Posters complaining about too many QB runs or lack of a vertical passing game don't know the history of a Briles offense. Ay its core this is a vertical passing offense with a power running game to complement the passing attack.
