Somewhere earlier in this thread, I also concede I know we need to run the ball. We need way better early down and distances going forward. I just want to see TVD throwing on early downs and pushing the ball as well. We have a QB who can make throws almost no other college QB can make. That really sucks for opposing defenses. I simply want that to be the focus of our attack. Pass to open the run, so to speak. When those two Safeties are kept back and are too scared to creep forward, go ahead and get those run yards. Are we ready to get run/conversion yards when the defense knows we'll run? Ehhh, Mirabal would have to pull off some kind of turnaround.

Appreciate your approach to the discourse. Nice to talk football - hidden in a coaching thread.
Have enjoyed seeing all sides of the discussion. I just want to see who the OC is and how they run the offense here.
Ps: Did not watch Oregon enough myself to have an opinion? To me eye test beats stats.

Yeah I got that.

I don’t know what to believe. The timing was real odd since I was the one crapping on the Nunez rumors and saying it was bad info. I also said it was a power five Ad not Nunez. So I get people thinking it was me , i was the only one saying that at the time. But like I said I just let it slide.
Common sense (you have also stated) says Nuñez wasn’t offered the job knowing now Rad ended up with the position. Nuñez was a backup plan, at best. You can’t compare resumes. However, several candidates, including Nuñez, did well during interview process.

When the OC is hired, I will judge based on the LCE reaction. Either his gif:

Or this gif if mad:

I didn’t want to scroll through 241 pages to check if this was asked.

Is the rule 10 total coaches or 10 assistants? (I can never remember)

Briles is legit but does he feature the TE?

IMO, you gotta ask yourself what elite pieces do we have, and then pick a scheme that features those pieces.

On offense, that’s Elijah Arroyo, Don Chaney, and TVD. On defense, it’s James Williams. Those four players should always be on the field IMO.

That’s why I don’t want an air raid. I want an offense that will feature our best players which right now is a pro style QB, a TE, and a big RB.

People don’t want to hear it, but Chud/Dorsey makes a lot of sense

thankfully Briles is not Air raid. Expect more similar to lashlee than an air raid O.

Cribby has basically posted the entire staff, just hasn't explicitly confirmed it.

And Miami is cheap? Coral Gables is more expensive than Boston .. housing especially.

Miami is not. But now that Miami is committed to paying the largest assistant pool, so he can make a lot $$$ more at Miami. Mario is not going to lowball his former teammate and friend.

Lashlee didn’t use our TE enough either. He was a good OC though.

But honestly our personnel screams pro style, unpopular as that is. You gotta run the ball and you gotta feature Arroyo, it’s where we have the biggest talent advantage.

We don’t have elite receivers. We have good receivers, but not elite. Arroyo, Chaney and TVD are elite. You need a scheme that features them IMO

So offenses without 1st round WRs aren’t explosive? TVD’s best WR was a guy who transferred because he couldn’t get snaps at OU. Rambo isn’t a first round pick. And even with all the WR screens and and bubble RPO stuff that we run explosive plays weren’t the problem. Offense around the country aren’t full of first round picks and they create explosives. Mario hired a guy who either didn’t value them like Lashlee does or was incapable of scheming of them up

You can use (even feature) a TE in a spread offense.

It's really odd. But, I'm all for the strange need for some message board people to separate things into FOR vs AGAINST. Just so long as they click on all the Ads or pay the $25.
Not paying the $25 is straight insanity. I don’t log in on my work computer and just laugh at the ads and the people that won’t pay $25…

**** I remember offering @DMoney $100 years ago to clean up the board!

Jesus, it’ll be 10 years for me here in 2022! Don’t tell my wife, she’ll think I’m celebrating our 20th.

Let’s get some wins!

Desai has the stench of Golden on him. Already skeptical.

Olson is right up Mario's alley. Maybe he learned some new tricks from McVay (most overrated HC in the NFL imo), but I'd expect a very Moorehead like offense with him at the helm.

Im a Bears fan and I have watched every Chicago game for years. Desai is no joke.

His schemes and blitz packages are top notch. He saved a Robert Quinn’s career. Quinn went from almost being out the league to having 17 sacks this season.

Even more impressive when you consider that Khalil Mack has been out most of the year and Eddie Jackson and Akieem Hicks have missed significant time. The Bears Corners beyond Jaylon Johnson are replacement level at best.

He ranks below only Buddy Ryan and Vic Fangio as best Bears DC in my lifetime. Ahead of Lovie Smith, Ron Rivera, and Mel Tucker,
