Honestly, Hickson is just as good as Seider. Maybe not better, but there's not a significant drop off between the two imo.would Hickson be bad if we missed on seider?
I thought he was good at recruiting and if McClendon is here were good there too
If there's a bidding war on Seider then he is probably going to become the highest paid RB coach in college football meaning $700k+ if you consider the list below:Seider is good - another one of the most overrated coaches of all time on CIS because he stole a few recruits.
Really surprised no one has mentioned Telly. I think he’s just as much a possibility as anyone else.I would think Telly Lockette will be heavily considered at RB coach
I would take a swing at Willie Simmons at FAMU - he has entertained some offers from various schools in recent years
DVD has to be a bargain guy if he is on staff right? If there's a bidding war on Seider then he is probably going to become the highest paid RB coach in college football meaning $700k+ if you consider the list below:
1. Dell McGee, Georgia -- $675,000+
2. Stan Drayton, Texas -- $650,000+
3. Tony Alford, Ohio State -- $618,000+
4. Curtis Luper, Missouri -- $550,000
5. Deland McCullough, Indiana -- $515,000+
6. Greg Knox, Florida -- $497,000+
7. Tommie Robinson, Texas A&M -- $493,000
8. Jim Mastro, Oregon -- $481,000
9. David Johnson, Florida State -- $420,000
10. Mike Hart, Michigan -- $415,000
If you could get McClendon for $600k (made $515k at Oregon) and bid the Gators up on Seider so that they pay him $750k, it's probably worth it.
$8 million dollar budget sounds like a lot until you realize Mirabal made $600k at Oregon and guys like James Coley make $450k as a TE coach. You're going to have to bargain hunt for some of the position roles. You can't pay everyone $600k+.
His dad was a long time DC at the college levelRead some more on Schumann and came away pretty impressed with his resume. He’s a bit young, but the guys been laser focused on football coaching since high school.
That’s actually not that crazy of a list considering his “Great Scott it’s Seider” reputation. Would love to have him but ain’t the end of the world if he dont come here.Ja'Juan Seider All Time Recruits

How many of these guys are heavy hitters?
His dad was a long time DC at the college level
ETSU, Tulane, SMU, and I want to say finished off at UAB - dad got him in touch with Saban and instead of playing college ball he got a head start in coaching as a student assistant.
He’s overrated bruh. I’ve been screaming he ain’t got **** on BMac. We don’t need Seider let him get over paid at UFThat’s actually not that impressive of a list.
Cribby .. any idea of when there might be some announcements starting on the staff hires? Going to do it "piecemeal" or the whole enchilada?I had a couple threads deleted in the AM for multiple reasons. One being the hints were a little too good and two it was still early in n the process. They were just serious candidates. I’ve mentioned some of the names now and others have guessed off my thread so here’s where we are. Coaches to watch as possible options.
Brady oc
Coley / Ponce qb
Hurtt / brumbaugh DL maybe co DC ( Hurtt likely)
Schuman Dc/Lb or Belk
Bobby Williams te or st’s or both, because of his connection with Mario
Rod chance cb because of his connection with Mario
Seider Rb or te ( UF is involved )
McClendon rb or wr That’s been posted by caneville. He was on campus, so confirmed.
Mirabal OL ( DuH)
Fields TE or off field
Ish likely off field if retained
T Rob or Tvd or both S / cb.
Nick Monroe DB
The off field room will remain close to intact
Those are all names to watch as candidates / possible hires . I’ll add new names when I hear them.
I would like to have a veteran DC on staff along with him if he is the guy. TRob would be good for that. He and Todd Orlando have gotten close doing self-scouting and off-season work. If Schumann can be DC and Orlando coach Linebackers they would feed really well off each other.Yeah, read that. It’s impressive when you think about the fact he’s parlaying that into probably a close to 2M salary soon before his 32nd birthday.

His best get was Pitts, and nobody thought Pitts would turn out as great as he did. That’s actually not that crazy of a list considering his “Great Scott it’s Seider” reputation. Would love to have him but ain’t the end of the world if he dont come here.
My penn state friends said “take him” when I mentioned Seider.Seider is good - another one of the most overrated coaches of all time on CIS because he stole a few recruits.
Like mentioned above Pitts is the only person he’s ever landed that’s done anything. His commit list is disgusting. Literally no NFL running backs. Why do people want this bum?? Help me understandMy penn state friends said “take him” when I mentioned Seider.
Noah Cain and the whole run game was awful this year.
