Neither have an income tax and Tennessee has a higher sales tax rate and Tennessee taxes interest and dividends earned.

People do it to work with Saban all the time. Freeman isn’t Saban but he’s the latest high priority - young DC in the game. Rave reviews.
Belk is trying to be the next Marcus Freeman making the same ascension in the coaching world. Learning from him and working with him would not be the worst thing..

Would you buy a stock that had 5 failed CEOs going back 15 years based on the promise of a new CEO?

Would you buy a stock that had performed well over the same time period and just had a change in management?

It's about the current perception and whether Belk can see the potential. We see all of the changes and believe this time will be different. Try convincing someone who doesn't love Miami.

I can play this game too. Would you buy a stock at the top just because it had performed well in the past under an experienced CEO that's gone? Or try to invest in a company with a new, experienced, respected CEO with a history of success that you thought had a lot of room for growth and a very high ceiling, and was committing more resources to getting there than its competition?

At ND he's also walking into a situation where if they don't finish top 5 they've regressed. They are set up for a lot of finger pointing. I think they've basically peaked unless they do a UM or UF and start to throw a ton of resources at the problem and that didn't just happen. They went cheap and there has been no talk of increased budgets for the facilities etc. that Kelly had wanted. Kelly knew ND can't compete with Bama, UGA, OSU etc. And there it is. That's why Kelly left. Because he believed that coaching at a place that was devoting the very resources Miami just committed to was a better job than staying at ND.

I think Miami is a better job for all the reasons Kelly left Notre Dame to go coach a sub .500 team that just finished last in their division.

Talk about the market answering our question!

What ****es me off more than anything is the double dip in property taxes. If you live in a city, you pay city and county taxes.
That's interesting to me because I live in NY and that type of taxation is why so many people have been leaving the state. Seems like recently there's been a lot of population growth in TN, but with tax policies like that good luck.

CA and NY are both having issues and covid only accelerated it (in terms of people moving elsewhere). NY still has Wall Street and CA has Los Angeles, but people are done with getting taxed out their azzes. No pun intended but the leadership at the state levels have doubled down on their approach to taxes, to make up for shortfalls...that are in a major way driven by...you guessed it, high taxes. Makes no sense. And now some of these states (NY, CA, IL) have cash surpluses due to covid windfalls and are going to burn through it all in 1 or 2 years, rather than see it for the lifeline that it is and try and re-evaluate things to slow and/or stop the mass exodus of people.

Im not even saying ND is what Belk is waiting on.. really don’t know.

I’ve been told Belk to UM is done so I’m gonna ride with that

Just don’t know what the delay in announcement is. All speculation like you guys on that end.
See and this is what keeps troubling me and I know everyone keeps negging me for it but it's true. Someone is getting cold feet and being indecisive. Mario or Belk. If it's done, sign the papers, announce it and let's move on with our lives.

What’s gas in SFla? Tennessee is usually the cheapest out of the surrounding states.
Having just driven to TN and back, it's about the same as most places in FL, maybe a little cheaper. North GA had the cheapest at $2.81/gal at one station.

That said, we have places here that drive our average up. Gas around here is ~3.40, but 15 miles away in West Palm, my wife pays 20 cents a gallon less.

Saban is proven. Freeman is not. Even if Freeman is the best DC on the planet, he might be a garbage HC, which can destroy even the best DC's career.
Yep. See Will Muschamp, Jimmy Lake, Randy Shannon, and Manny Diaz. Some guys are not CEOs...

You mean the sub .500 team that won the national championship two years ago?
