A kid died of a heatstroke from running gassers - don't make it sound like he shot a kid or something

We're not hiring his strength coach who was running workouts when it happened- i'm pretty sure all of the complaints about culture was Rick Court cussing at kids and calling them names.
Then why did DJ Durkin keep him on the staff for 3 years? As a head coach, you're responsible for overseeing the staff and players.

Fun Fact - DJ Durkin at the time was close friends with Rick Court. Bad vibe right there.

247 Gives him a lot of credit in recruiting. His list is stacked

@Cribby put it out there that he was the No. 1 guy and he’s only staying if he can call plays. If the other sites are moving on then he must be gaining playcalling abilities.
moving on from him as a DC candidate or moving onto other position coaches?

I would be ok with Mason based on his resume , obviously presuming the talent situation gets better here the next several years. I don’t think he’s great, but more “solid” type. Had some pretty good defenses at Stanford.

Durkin was the play caller at Ole Miss while Partridge appears to be the big time recruiter so we wouldn't be sure what he runs until he tells us

1.) Thank you for responding, lol.

2.) I don’t disagree with a lot of that, but just because he may get that NFL OC job and blow up and thus decreasing our chances to get him later, that still isn’t a good enough reason for me for us to take that risk NOW. We shouldn’t cave in just because of that. My biggest thing is, there are still a ton of question marks with him and if we have all of this money and the opportunity to get a sure thing or close to it, then he needs to be way down the list.

3.) I hear you on Schumann, and hence why I said if the reason is simply just, “I have faith in him” then just say that. Because I believe in Schumann, I also have zero question marks about Schumann on the trail and know that he genuinely LOVES to do it and is ELITE at it. That is another question mark for Dorsey although yes, the coordinators main job is to coordinate, let the assistants handle the load on the trail.

4. Definitely not expecting to lure away an NFL OC, but a good proven college OC with a record of sustainable success should definitely be the expectation.
I think at this point it's just a matter of best risk/reward candidate available for what Mario's looking for... I'll bet a great recruiter isn't at the top of his list for an OC (because like you said, you can get elite recruiters at the position coaches) but probably an elite planner/QB coach is... Dorsey is both, although we're not sure about his play calling..

Joe Brady went to LSU as a passing game coordinator with waaaaay less experience than Dorsey and turned LSU into one of the most prolific offenses ever and his career blew up..

I think if it were my call, I'd want a proven college OC as well with proven success... But maybe Mario feels comfortable enough with Dorsey's QB coaching and planning/scheming that he's willing to take a risk on the play calling part? the play calling part is the only part of Dorsey's resume (assuming recruiting isn't THAT important to Mario because of the rest of the staff) in my opinion that is questionable.. and even that is only partially questionable. from what i understand, the passing game coordinator pretty much calls all the critical downs (third downs, red zone, obvious passing downs...

anyways, anytime a coach is being looked at, i like to see what his current fanbase thinks about him.. as you know, Bills fans are diehards.. their fans are expecting Dorsey to be their next OC and most seem pretty happy with it..

Worked out decently for Kentucky this year hiring Cohen from the Rams.
