Some Encouraging Words From Hurlie

Stop acting like some hoes. Let's find out Sept. 1st and beyond. This fan base is fuxking chicken little. The sky isn't falling.

Yeah, you're all over it. You're right it's not falling...it FELL.

It's been 10 years of us sucking. The Don Bailey Jr crowd acts like we were just competing for championships yesterday. The funny thing is I'm pretty sure the administration also carries this same type of outlook...which is exactly why we're going on our 3rd straight ****** *** coaching staff.

This is the reason it's hard to post on here. Too many Debbie downers if Hurlie would of said something inspirational you guys wouldn't believe it then state that this is the same defense blah blah blah. It's his first interview since being switched over, yes he made poor judgment in his words to express the team. But it's still our team and we should be very optimism about the outlook and our roster has more Miami talent wise than before.. So cheer up and Let's have a great season. Go Canes!!!

This deserves to be a twenty-page thread. Hurlie's gaffe (defined as accidentally telling the truth) is an insult to the fans, the program, our traditions, and to the concept of coaching excellence.

delete the thread.............. we know the style they played backed in the day is not allowed anymore. The hits and celebrating big plays. Its a more policed league now adays. Mods delete the thread.......

Dude STFU you sound like a little ******

Cause recruits and their parents read this **** board bra. Who the f_ck you talking too though? Y'all ain't going to never learn. Some of y'all hurt the program more than y'all ever know it...... No I don't agree with what he said but I'm not going to voice it on a platform such as canesinsight where we KNOW recruits and their parents visit the site frequently.

It sounds like you have the same loser mentality that the coaches have. You sure you aren't one of the staff over here to see how people react to being coached by a staff of losers?

Hurries got to get his mind right and think about what he's saying. Too bad the tape got cut off. Would've like to have had the interviewer ask him some follow ups about his expectations for this season. Don't know if anyone has done that.

As a side note, saw crazy4canes post a link to an article about Mason and Stanford and now Vandy. How a D should handle an up tempo offense. Thought it was a great article. Really was eye opening for me. My question would be, did Coach D' spend a week at Vandy with this guy? If not, that's all I need to know. Along with our hideous D numbers, which do not lie.

Agreed. Some of you all need to back up the bus. We want to hold these kids to a standard that has been mystified by time. It is one thing to be held to your older brother's standard, it is another to try to be your daddy. Those 80's and 90's teams where the stuff of legends and like legends have grown to be more than they were. I love the old Canes. BUT I remember them failing miserably on many occasions also. Come on, JJ and his boys should have one at least 4 NC.s not just one. They got beat by friggin TN and left one in the Sugar Bowl-- TN for God's sake. Then the next year the whole combat fatigue stuff. I loved it but how the heck do they lose to a shower stalker? JoePa had JJ as his ***** that day. We all love JJ but what year was it before he won his first bowl game? Anyone remember Bama in the Sugar Bowl embarrassing the living crap out of our Heisman winner and the whole defense. Would I take that all back now, sure but let's not act like our beloved Canes never got their tails whupped.

Hurlie is trying to be realistic. Us fans don't have to be like that, but dude has two NC rings and earned slack. Shut up unless you can slap two rings on the table as your ante. Guy just moved to third job in two years-- a tip of the hat to how good our old Canes were and are. How many of you would tell a boss who has complete discretion over your job to man up and stop being a girl? On a coaching staff everyone matches to the same drummer. I might not like the beat of Al's drum but I want guys like Hurlie, Art, and Ice on board. We know they have the attitude we love; time might allow it to infect Al. Pray is does. All that said, come on Hurlie! Nine wins is not enough.

Hurlie just gets it.
Dumb ****'s on this site that are crying about don't know the Hurlie just did an epic reverse psychology job on his defense.
You tell any kid with an ounce of pride that they are not good enough to be better than the past Hurricanes greats and they'll give it all what it takes to prove people wrong.

LOL @ the dummies here.

What's really sad about this whole thing is that Hurlie played on some great Miami teams. A National Champion in 1989 and 1991; this guy was part of the program at one if its peaks. He's played on teams that had true Miami defenses.

It's utterly pathetic how this program no longer has any expectations whatsoever.

For head coaches like Saban, Meyer, etc. losing one or two games in a season is an utter failure. Alabama won the National Championship in 2012, but dropped one game to A&M during the season. For the entire offseason, Saban had a replay of that game streaming in the weight room to motivate his players.

Programs like that, coaches like that do not accept failure.

Under Golden, it's gotten to the point where losing four games in a season is positive and being embarrassed on defense regularly is nothing to be ashamed of.

Would like to hear what he said, why was it cut? Anyway, that's the last interview Hurlie will ever do lol.

I don't have an issue with it. This reminds me of another thread where Coach Golden says something and a guy writes an editorial and it's now in the Herald. In my opinion, which don't mean nothing, the teams of the 80/90s were great, but in reality, we are what we are today. Coach G has expressed that the team needs to establish its own identity, and I believe his comments may reflect buy in on that vision. Despite the team no longer playing like those championship teams, I renewed my season tickets yet again, and despite all the negative about Sunlife I will be there through the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY.

Think we all need a game to be played. Cabin fever. Sitting around parsing words from a coach in a half-azzed interview. September can't get here fast enough.

Pretty obvious why Saban doesn't let his assistants do interviews. He can't control the message if they're talking. Letting assistants do interviews in today's era is foolish with the way fans flip on you. Nothing good can come out of it. Only bad.

No one has a clue what Hurlie is actually telling players, but now he's public enemy number one because he said some dumb **** in a meaningless interview. I doubt he believes what he said, but he was probably just trying to be classy and uncontroversial for the sake of a useless interview. And now he's the scourge after being the apple of everyone's eye before the interview.

LOL @ 75% of the people starting to see the light, but we still have some stragglers that wanna believe and dont wanna admit that F.A.G. needs togo
