So lets rate richt?

What don't people understand about recruits not wanting to come here? No fan support and no Ws on the field and yall think big time recruits want to be a part of that?

I wanted Butch, 100% because of his recruiting so not fair to compare Mark. He did okay keeping most of the best kids and adding few. Losing that **** kid hurts. He certainly did not make huge splash, but was not huge failure either. I'll go with c+ to B-. At least he didn't bring a bunch of Temple recruits with him.

with one month no way butch did any better. get out of here with that bs. idiotic to rate a coach on 1 month. richt did a pretty solid job. he got richards back, kept bruce, which does count idiots saying it doesn.t keeping kids matters. he added finley, martin, tre johnson, malek young, he didn't get kids like miller to flip at last moment but the kids he did get were high quality

i know people on here want to say butch would of got manuel thats bs. or would of got arod again bs. its not true. richt and staff did as well as could be expected giving they have been here 1 month. 2017 class is one to judge.

u never rate or judge a coach on his first class b ecause its always a scramble drill. this class though is much better then shannon or golden's first class and better then what haurbaugh got at michigan last year. 2017 class is one to rate and judge.

just watching a staff know how to coach and win games wil help there.

thats just not true. recruits want to come here. but richt and his staff had 1 month to recruit. no coach comes in lands top 10 class after being hired. in fact richt has best class of all the new head coaches hired this year.

haurbaugh at michigan did great this year but last year he was rated just inside the top 20 i believe. and he had nfl success and college success and michigan fans and facilities to sell.

what richt and staff accomplished was a solid top notch class with very few projects. next years class will be top 5 and all this kids don't want to come to miami crap will be proven just plain solid bull****.

They were golden commits though bottom line

There was zero chance those guys are Golden commits if Golden stays.
How do you know this?

Logic and common sense. Jesus.
Yes those allow you to state an opinion as factual

Seriously?!

I mean, all it takes is to look back at Golden's last few classes to know he would've suffered a number of decommits. If Golden were still here he'd be a dead man walking--the negative recruiting would have been so toxic that I would be mildly surprised if Shaq were even here. There are at least 6-7 of this class that would not be here today if Al "Dead Man Walking" Golden were still the HC.

In my opinion, there are several players that should either not be counted in "who he got" or at least weighed similarly to "reaches he lost". It makes for a nice story, but frankly you cannot include Richards, McCloud, James or Bethel. Richards and McCloud were already committed to, and fans of this program. Neither of them even took all of their visits. Wether Golden had stayed, or whoever the new coach was, they were coming back. Correct me if I am wrong, but in addition to James having a family connection to the program, we may very well have been his only major offer, of course he was coming. We have had Bethel penciled into this class for more than a year, he was in our backyard and is a legacy. Maybe he wouldn't have come if we kept Golden, but any replacement was getting his commitment.

Malek young
Romeo finley
Tre johnson
Tyreic martin
Haskins

I am glad he brought Malek Young, like Haskins and Romeo commits, am comfortable with the current depth to take Martin and Johnson anticipating shirts for both. Short time frame considered, things could have been worse. I was okay with the pieces he pushed out, making room for him to go big on next years class.

Overall C+

Rating him on a transitional recruiting class seems idiotic.
It really isn't. He's not receiving a transitional paycheck. The class is a solid B. The only additions to be excited about that weren't legacies are Finley and maybe Haskins and Martin. Our biggest needs were interior DL, OL, and CB and they were not adequately addressed.

Next years class will be the one to judge, having less than one month to recruit and flip kids doesn't count!

I'll give him a rating of

Can't say it's about relationships and then excuse not flipping a bunch of Georgia dudes.

I'll say his grade should look like this:

Better than Golden would have done, not as good as Butch would have done.

Right. Because recruiting has always been an exact science. How many of those UGA coaches either stayed at UGA or left for another school? It's not like we brought the entire UGA coaching staff...
Notice we did flip the one South Florida guy that was committed to UGA (Young).

I see we just had 2 new posters come on board, who just want to ***** and moan. Please go troll over on Ferballs site.

It's a reasonable assumption....but an assumption. Not factual.

No they don't. There is always going to be guys that always wanted to go to miami and they are coming regardless.

What big time recruits wanted to come here but didn't because richt was only here a month?

This class is better than Golden's class last year. That's very telling.

That's fair. I'll agree with that. But the assumption is backed by some very factual recent history of a certain sweaty coach getting jilted down the stretch every single year.

Class grade is a B-. Struck out at CB, needed one more S, and an elite OT and DT. Would have liked 1 more WR but not a critical miss esp since we closed on elite talent (Mullins, Midget, Richards). Elite haul at LB, great Rb and QB, great TE, great DE haul.

Wrong, you forgot about Malek Young, a CB with 4.5 speed. We are fine at safety and time will tell on the OL and DL. I fully trust the Kulh.
