so IT IS Pinstripe Bowl Yankee Stadium (vs Rutgers) Mega Merge Bowl thread

Been reading that Rutgers is bringing back a lot of guys next year, meaning that they’ll be playing in the bowl game. Gonna be interesting.

Just got tickets, driving in from Ohio the morning of and staying the night after the game with my two colleagues.

Any recommendations on hotels, food, or anything else nearby for 3 friends trying to have a good time?

Never been to NY so excited to see the canes, yankee stadium, and the city

I was at the Wisconsin game at the last Pinstripe Bowl and Miami also had the advantage. There are a lot of Canes fans up here. If you’re buying tickets go for the Main 200 sec you can’t see from the field level. Sec 207,08,09 would be your best bet. Season Ticket holders can purchase them now pricing is the same minus the Ticketmaster fees

The 2018 Pinstripe Bowl was the worst viewing experience ever for me. Freezing cold and our guys didn’t want to play. Got creamed.
Even Manny said later on that the team didn’t take the game seriously. I remember Joe Jackson asking for a sub 2 minutes into the game and that’s the last I saw of him…

I think Rutgers will be hungrier for a win than we are.

(But I’ll probably go again anyway.)

I left at halftime because they weren’t even trying. One of the traditions is the Big 10 school visits Sloan Kettering and give gifts to the kids in inpatient going through cancer treatment. If that **** doesn’t put things into perspective nothing will.

The team has had player-led activities this week leading up to the first official bowl practice on Saturday, Dec. 16 (not sure exactly how many practices they will have at UM, but likely 4-7)

*** The team will practice at UM through Dec. 23 including having practice early on that day and then fly to New York later on the 23rd. The practice on the 23rd is the first of their "game week" preparations, similar to a Monday practice during a typical week.

* The team will practice at Columbia University beginning on Dec. 24 leading up to the bowl game with various activities in New York throughout the week leading up to the game on Dec. 28. One of the bowl activities is Dec. 27 when Cristobal and some players will ring the bell for the stock exchange.

Defensive coordinator Lance Guidry stated Jaden Davis will play free safety and Te'Cory Couch at boundary safety.

Additionally, Guidry noted Ja'Dais Richard will start at cornerback with either Damari Brown or Davonte Brown starting at the other cornerback spot. When the Hurricanes go with their nickel defense, Markeith Williams will play at boundary safety with Couch going to the star spot.

Thats a tiny group of safeties against a run heavy team with a powerful back. In the cold.

Is this sarcastic? Used to be a Single Room Occupancy or Welfare Hotel. People used throw bottles out their windows. One bottle almost hit me once. Landed just above my head about 2 feet up.
But maybe things have changed.

Yes I'm just messing around, they closed years ago I think. I think it was rated the worst hotel in the country.

don't stay by the stadium, it's not a nice part of town... parking at the stadium is pricey, hotels in the city rn have to be a mess w the holidays... try to stay in the city near midtown if you can so yall are central to all. don't stay on the east side of the city as you will be far from most easy public trans...Just a few things that come to mind.
