So I went back a watched the first half

He also needs to stop giving the safety decisions to make just ******* play two deep and have them guard one half of the field.
Exactly communication issues and not knowing who to cover is leading to way too many big plays.

He needs to stop letting Richards play man to man coverage, especially against the opponents best receiver. Richards is absolutely horrible.

Please don’t. Last I remember him saying much was after USF when he was ****y about making adjustments… 3 more games later and he’s getting gashed way too often…
Yea he gonna say kickoff and fumble made it worse than it was (which is true) then he will say we got off field on 3rd down but they hit 3 for 3 on 4th and fake punt then side step getting dog walked up and down the field allllll game long..

The standards are extremely low right now so with our offense we just need a guy to trip here or there, a drop pass maybe a sack or so and then hope our offense can make the other team play uncharacteristically..

MOST teams don't have offensive firepower to keep up, but we even make terrible offenses look good (THIS is issue) then not only that they have to hit on extra plays and play ultra aggressive to keep up.. Louisville with good offense had to get kick to house, fake punt, go aggressive on 4th down from there side of field multiple times AND STILL LOST.

GT can probably score if their starter is back, Syracuse offense can throw so those games on road are land mines..

He at least made nice pass break on fade covering #1 for Louisville.. #19 can't cover, can't tackle, they have no reason to play him anymore, he is not acc material..

That's the only play he made. Any time a receiver takes any sort of angle or makes any move, Richards ends up a few yards away from the WR without the speed or skill to get back into position

I agree 100% but atleast he DID something positive.. **** is soooooo bad #19 and #7 on field make him playable.. Who else they gonna play WHEN THEY ALL SUCK?!

guidry has played poorly, but with all due respect. as a random poster on the internet rewatching the first half, please don't try to pretend like you know defense better than the entire defensive staff

that's next level ignorance

Please report to the football building for the coaches meeting while the rest of the entire website discusses things from a fan’s perspective…

he said it's clear as day guidry thinks he's smarter than he is and we should play a "read and react" defense

lmao

that's what you're sticking up for? go root for al golden and "No D" and miss me with that bull****

9 minute listen talks about the defense about half way through

Consensus is the DL is not the issue. it's the back end. communication etc . Same thing everyone sees

Yeah smart guy. Line up your entire DL outside the C gap and watch a D1 OL blow open a hole that goes for 26 yards on a 3rd and 3. That’s some smart playcalling there.

I didn't say the defense was playing well

I just don't think your condescending take of pretending to understand a brohm called offense (widely regarded best playcaller in college football) more than an entire defensive staff is smart

An Al Golden reference is pure CIS at its best. The dude rewatched and gave his take and instead of disagreeing or rebutting you call him ignorant… so any thread on here that isn’t a D1 coordinator is invalid??

It is a message board.

The defense is playing poorly. Looking into why is a decently fair take.

lol. It doesn’t take an offensive genius to know when you have no DL inside of the tackles to run the ball there. I don’t even put that one on the players. Im not expecting Wes to defeat double teams by a couple 300 lb OL. We’ve given up 34 points a game the last 3 weeks to Cal, VT, and LVille. Didn’t know Brohm was calling the plays for different teams. Though he did give everyone the template to gash a Guidry defense and it’s worked the last 3 games

And I’m not advocating to just line up in a base cover 2. You can blitz and bring some pressure. But his tendencies seem to be figured out.
