So how many Duke players got drafted

Lol at equating winning national championships to possibly beating Duke in year4 after getting hammered in year 3 (IN ****ING FOOTBALL).

Christ

you keep harping on duke. it was a bad loss for sure but we were without our two best offensive players on the road and they had a good team last year. very undukelike for what its worth. we had a flawed team and flawed teams lose games like that.

the main point at the end of the day is we are closer to the dukes of the world then we are the national championship contenders. i contend its because our talent is not that much better. if you want to argue that our coaches recruited the players then ok we can have that argument. but at the end of the day we have to have better players and whatever great underclassmen talent we have has to be on the field and has to produce.

LOL at 2006 being the glory years. And it wasn't a loss. We got dominated by Duke.

the 2006 reference was more towards Duke who at the time was still fielding intramural teams, and a loss to them would be embarrasing... The NFL has spoken and..

-Morris aint as good as we thought
-Hurns aint as good as we thought
-Seantrel aint as good as we thought

Point being Miami wasnt that much more talented than Duke on that day and was missing their best player, and their 2nd best player/true freshmen had to leave the game, which left our destiny in the hands of guess who..Morris, Hurns, Seantrel, Dallas Crawford etc... Get over it man, the Duke beat us thing doesnt have as much meat as you want it to, it just doesnt.

It sure the **** does. Had this been goldenballs 1st year you would have a point. This was his 3rd. Why is it any other decent coach can turn a team around in 2, and goldenballs went backwards in 3...

The only guys that did it in 2, which are Meyer and Saban(maybe tressel), inherited teams with tons of talent

Add Stoops and Chizik to that list. Of the past 14 champions, 6 (almost half) were won by coaches in their 2nd year or less. More than half won it by their 3rd season. With that said, I'm ready for the 2014 season to start.

Ethered.

Ok, so you're equating winning national championships to getting hammered by an average Vtech at home

or barely squeaking out a win to Wake Forest at home

or getting blown out by every opponent with a pulse

or giving up 500 yards a game to just about anyone

Go ahead.... choose.

Just for kicks I went to the Duke website, found the current roster and counted the number of redshirts on their current roster. I counted 58. Did the same thing with the current Miami roster, we have 19.

FSU has about 40, Duke is going to whoop that ***.

7 pages, a million excuses, and no answer to the OP.

Par for the course for the CIS troglodytes

1 Duke player drafted
2 Miami players drafted not including a P

How UNC players were drafted?
How about UF?

If we are going to make up random considerations like not counting a player as drafted because he is punter then we Duke had zero players drafted because the one dude's last name is ****rell and anyone with **** in their last name is worth less than a punter. My logic is actually better than yours since that punter you want to exclude has better chance to make his squad than ****gobbler or whatever his name is.

Who cares how many guys get drafted in the late rounds. The teams with the first day or second round draft picks are the teams that contend for championships or win conferences consistently. We used to have multiple first second and third round picks.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say. I say we lost to teams with comparable talent. If you are saying our talent is so superior why doesn't the nfl agree ?

My point is that you shouldn't need a team with multiple 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks to beat ******* Duke.

You just throw duke out there like it's the same duke. They had one of their best teams. Not saying it was great. Just saying we were missing our two best players on offense and we didn't have a great team to begin with. Duke is just a name. It means nothing when the game actually begins. We don't beat these teams constantly because our talent is only marginally better. Doesn't matter what the name of the shirt is.

I used to get really upset when we lost because I knew we why better talent ok the field. The last few years out talent has sucked.

7 pages and no one can just admit that golden was thoroughly out coached that day. If we lost by one point then the your equal talent argument would hold a little more weight. The fact that we lost by 18 ******* points to a team that had less talented seniors, juniors and sophomores should tell you all you need to know. Golden was out coached and not a single one of you golden **** suckers can simply admit that.

The ol' those guys are on scholarship too. Awesome. They gave up 58 to Pitt, got blown out by GTech and outside of their Non-Major opponent and Miami (their most impressive win, lulz) the combined record of the opponents they beat was 36-50.

You're telling me we need multiple 1st/2nd/3rd round picks to beat that? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

you mad?

Not sure why you're hung up on this. It's been said before that Cutcliffe is a good coach that's been building this Duke team that last 6 seasons.
As much as you guys hate to think otherwise, there was no talent discrepancy between Miami and Duke last season. Had we played with Duke, Dorsett, and Healthy Bush there would have been but I'm also sure the results would have been different also to our favor.
I'd take 2 of their LB's over 2 of other not named Perryman.
There safety Cash was the best DB on the field that game.
I'd take their SR DE over Green.
Their CB that got drafted would have started here.
The difference in the game was their QB being able to convert on 3rd downs while ours laid an egg in crucial parts of the game. If you want to call that outcoaching go ahead. Cutcliff is known for his QB coaching.
That was the difference in the game.
Feel better?

But...but...Duke had an experienced squad led by really good upperclassmen. Or at least that was the meme around these parts after the loss. Lulzzz

Golden sucks *****, but The Duke loss was not a bad loss.

Now the VA tech game...that was a terrible loss. A ******* joke that ruined the season.
