So barry jackson says...

We've been witnessing the systematic destruction of UM football and the alienation of South Florida HS coaches and recruits because of this attitude, not to mention the fans.

It's all so Donna can feather her cap with a higher academic ranking in order to impress her elitist friends in D.C.

I, for one, am sick of it. And, I'm clearly not alone.

The coaches clinic was actually a pretty big hit. Not sure I remember things like that in the past. And with what the big SEC schools are allowed to get away with in recruiting, it's hard to totally fault the staff (unless you were specifically targeting the school admin). I think holding Miami's academic standards on a pedestal is paramount. It's quite possible to have a great educational institution as well as a solid football team. Just ask Stanford. Donna's doing her job, our FOOTBALL staff isn't.

Miami will never be as academically elite or prestigious as Stanford. Miami is kinda stuck in a ****** spot in academics. Too good to let the complete idiots that are good at football in, but not academically elite enough to lure kids away like Stanford.

Isn't it amazing how Tad Foote was hated by most, percieved to be a racist and Shalala is loved and praised by most for doing the same things. It's all politics.

Don't know why everybody insists on stanford like this? Harbaugh completely changed the culture of that program I know for a fact because of friends who were recruited to play football for stanford before harbaugh and during and after Harbaugh. Complete culture change. I am not taking anything away from there academics when it comes to athletics but they are not turning kids away like harvard. They recruit the best and if they can get them to commit they will accept commitment just like Miami as long as they get the bare minimum NCAA requirements

If a kid's priority is academics and has only two offers, Miami and Stanford, he's most likely gonna choose Stanford. That's all I was saying. Just look at Reilly Gibbons last year.

Oh okay Gotcha... Didn't take it like that sorry about that. But I completely agree with you can't argue that. Actually top 20 most rigorous colleges came out today and stanford was like #6! Football and academic there.....yikes

Miami football just survived a brush with the death penalty and you ****tards want another documentary glorifying everything that could have sunk the entire football program.

The stupidity is amazing.

BW and cane305 they're not mutually excluse but when we start winning I'd love to see trash talking and blowouts commence. Golden lacks the ruthless nature of running up the score cause as he puts it:" I've been on the other side too many times." it's time to be ok w/wearing the black hat, coach.

LMAO I know that's right Al....I know you have.

Please, explain to me what good another documentary about the football program would do.

You've got a massive scandal right about where the first one left off, the program going into the toilet, one championship season and then the programing going back into the toilet.

Sounds like a blast.

1: So just skip the scandal.

2: Focus on how Butch built the greatest team ever.

3: Enjoy the free publicity.

4: Profit?

Great

Those 7 1/2 minutes of what will likely be a 2 hour Corben docudrama will be great.

It couldn't be any worse than Cocaine Cowboys 2.

Whooping you better stop you're making to much sense, and a lot of people on here are blind to the facts. But I say if we wait patiently sooner or later Donna and her puppets will retire and we can get a young hungry president to right this ship!

is the president gonna coach the football team? lol the presidents job is to run the school not coach a football team and recruit. randy sucked as a coach and golden is rebuilding some of the relationships randy destroyed, but bc of our lack of success the last what 10 years, we can't close on kids that were 8-10 when we last won something

I can be considered a Liberal , but man like I said a thousand times, the U's leadership President, Board and AD are passive, Liberal Administrators who are out of their league when it comes to orchestrating a Championship Caliber new era NCAA football program. I still don't understand: 1. How a few minimum qualifiers on a football team downgrades you academic status and quality of professional programs. 2. How they can not see and be tunnel visioned to getting all that cash by having a top program. 3. Footballs team value to help funding all the other non-profitable sports. 4. When all they need to do is bring in a professional staff like Greg Schiano and Co. and pay them handsomely. The investment will pay off ten fold from the current state of the program. Guaranteed!

schiano turned us down after coker got fired
the kids that don't qualify end up at Marshall and prep schools not FSU, UF, or others. not like we require 1250s on the SATs for these kids to qualify.

lulz

"High ranking UM people" is a pretty thin veiled way of saying Donna hated the **** thing with a passion.

1. Shalala is the best Prez this university has ever had and it's not close.

2. Golden is allowed a few exceptions each year. He's trying to use one on Gray this year. If he can't get in here, he can't get in anywhere.

3. Of course the University is going to say what they did. They are trying to clean up an image that has been severely damaged in the last 3 or 4 years.

4. UM didn't win games in the 80's because of swagger, being ****y or celebrating. They won because we had great players who busted their ***. No more no less.

5. I don't give a sh** if we are forced to wear tuxedos to dinner every night and every UM player has to recite poetry -- as long as we win MNCs.

6. No UM president has ever bowed to the football program -- and in that time period we have won 5 MNCs.

7. Shalala told the NCAA president to fu** off essentially when it became clear that they were trying to railroad UM -- how come Shalala is not given any props for that in these types of conversations?

You have it right. You'll still have idiots here claiming Shalala is the anti christ.

Guess it is all in how you look at it since this one will allegedly cover the rise of UM back to glory from probation through what should have been 3 straight national championships 2000-2002. I don't mind reminding recruits and others what the Dorsey et al years were all about...especially after how we have **** the bed the last decade +.

P.S...I cannot resist anything EVER that may rub the asterisk into Ohio Taints face a bit more on a national stage.

Clueless post. Please don't comment on something that you are completely wrong about.

Miami has only a certain number of sliding scale qualifiers they take every year. The staff has to ask permission from admissions on each kid individually. It also has core class requirements that most elite programs don't ask for.

Us being compared to ND and Stanford is a JOKE. We are closer academically to Clemson and Bama than we are Stanford; look it up. The problem is for about 40 years people have this delusional view of what the school is.
