I know it's new, and surely it's still a work in progress, but I'm not a fan of how the likes are shown within the post. I think it adds useless information and takes away from the content (which is why we're all here). I think it'd be better off relegated to a number in a box on the left of the post, near the like button, instead of an entire bar in each post dedicated to it.

Turning the black Forum button on top into a drop down would definitely be a nice feature to speed up browsing and make the site less "clicky."

I'd definitely split the Baseball & Basketball boards.

With regards to ads, you could try contacting Hurricane apparel stores (AllCanes, etc), Ticketmaster (for Canes tickets), etc and see if you can set up an affiliate program with them so your ads apply to the content better. Personally, I don't see the ads because my browser blocks them, so I'm not sure what they look like, but it might be a better way for you guys to make the money necessary to host the site and keep membership free as opposed to something like Adsense. Also, if you host affiliate banners from your own host (instead of getting ads automagically served to you from Google), people like me who have ad blocking programs will see them because the programs will think it's content, not ads.

I have a lot of experience in web design/internet marketing/SEO, so if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Good stuff, I will add the forums to the drop down in the next hour or so. I guess what I am trying to do with the likes is have it operate a little different than reps. If it was just a number under Join Date and Post then it really doesn't serve anything other than a rep system for the football boards. I want it to call out certain post that users think are good. It's nice to browse a thread and known which post are worth reading and which aren't. I am with you on the clutter though. When I styled the forum last winter I took out a lot of the fluff that vbulletin has in it natively.

I honestly don't like the like button....People need to learn to just give rep

rep speaks to an user. An user with bad rep can make good post that are worth reading. ex NorthFloridaCane.

Then he needs to make more good posts to reverse his rep. I am pretty sure this was the same guy that cheered for Miami to lose the entire 2009 season. Got it... you want Randy Shannon fired but you dont make ******* posts cheering for the other team.

A suggestion for this site, get rid of the Like buttons and rely on rep. If you already know of the "bad rep" posters that make good posts, then why the change?

Either add a dislike button and get rid of the rep, or scrap the like/dislike option all together.

Not new, but it would be nice if threads started by the people you have on block, didn't show up when you looked through the forum's page. Not that I have that many people on block, but one in particular starts a 100 threads a day. Should be like the old site, where their thread just shows up as a blank.

I'll ask again...any chance at getting a rep post button for the mobile version?

Maybe, but I got some work to do in the mobile before that. With vBulletin 5 coming out at the end of the year it might be best for me to wait and see how mobile is handled then. In vBulletin 4 game out there was no such thing as a mobile style for any forum software.
