Playoffs have been around for over 10 years.

These other teams recruit to specific size and attributes. Their rosters have symmetry and layered. We recruit guys like CJ, CWH, but then recruit guys like Fletcher and Pringle. It’s like we have no plan and are just winging it. Same can be said about WR.

That’s just a small sample.

These other teams are dialed within every aspect.

Everything we do is erratic and reactionary.

Except that OSU has a five star and two high four stars on their starting OL. The two three stars? Were listed as guards in high school. Guards (IOL) are rarely if ever given five stars. Furthermore - to your point about HS S&C - it’s really tough to accurately evaluate high school IOL.

It's hard to evaluate OL altogether, not just IOL.
In most cases you just have some big *** OL going up against guys way smaller than them. Sometimes the only time you see them against similar size is at a camp and that doesn't mean a whole lot.

Understood and agree. I was referring more to the way the rankings work with regard to IOL, meaning they typically never give any IOL a 5th star.

Yes, my post was more for others. I should've made that more clear.

There's not a more gloryless position on the field than the guards, closely followed by the center. A lot of them come in as tackles, don't cut it, and end up there.

I'd bet most tune in on Saturday and Sunday fans couldn't name their teams three starting interior linemen. Back in our glory years and I saw entire home seasons, three national championships in person, I couldn't tell you their names unfortunately. Prior to the net, those names got lost to me if I'm honest.

Good players like OSUs older guys will come back to make runs bc of many things including:
- NIL
- Surrounded by other good players
- Culture

But most importantly, they know they have the coaching to get them into the postseason.

OSU consistently has a product to sell. They recruit good guys, and their good guys get drafted. And they perform in the league.

Our coaches are a hindrance on gameday, we recruit overrated guys, they don't get drafted.

Funny story. I was a lineman in high school. Got to Miami and I thought about walking on. I worked up the nerve to go to the Hecht Center and start asking questions. I got on the HurryCanes shuttle and the next stop, Kerlin Blaise and some other monster got on the bus. They got off at the Hecht Center but I stayed on the bus. Drinking beer in the stands seemed like a better choice after seeing them in person.

To your point, I didn’t know their names at the time. Years later I looked them up and Blaise was the only one I could find.
