FSU went to the inaugural CFP (13-1)
Bama went to the inaugural CFP (12-2)
Miami….Miami went 6-7 that yr.

You forgot the OL. Watch any replay of an OSU FG attempt last night. Don’t even watch the kick. Just look at the sheer size difference between OSU’s OL and ND’s FG block unit. Michigan was the same the year prior. Alabama and Georgia the same. Don’t forget the big nasties.

OL is one of those positions that you don’t necessarily need 5* talent across the front end. For every Mauignoa there are 2-3 high 3* that developed over a couple years and are now monsters. OL need time especially if their S&C in high school was a joke as a lot of programs are.

The 4 spots I listed are pretty much tried and true needs to compete at a high level.

Having multiple first round picks is a good starting point. We had 1 last year and with some improvement from Framcis we will have 1 this year. That isn't good enough.

Osu’s defense was the real deal the last few games. We haven’t a dline look like that in a very very long time and until it looks like that we will still be trying to just win the acc. I don’t know their weights or heights but they looked unstoppable.

Osu’s 20 million dollar roster was worth every penny. 4 games of free prime time advertising at a major network. More leverage for recruiting and nil.

Spend the fckng money if you have it. Getting just the number one portal qb is good publicity but not very effective.

It would also help if you get the best qb before ESD not after. Or at least have some 5 stars to sell the freshman. This “trust me we will get a qb” isn’t working.
 
OSU may have highly rated classes and players, but their coaches DEVELOP the talent. There is very slight drop off no matter who is calling plays, or who is on the field. That is development when all their players play to the same level.

Our coach recuits highly rated classes (sometimes), but most of the top end talent goes elsewhere or doesn't get developed. We need development

Except that OSU has a five star and two high four stars on their starting OL. The two three stars? Were listed as guards in high school. Guards (IOL) are rarely if ever given five stars. Furthermore - to your point about HS S&C - it’s really tough to accurately evaluate high school IOL. 🤷🏼‍♂️

College football doesnt work like that its not played in a vaccum, and you know it. We always get these posts, and its funny to me. Ohio State had the best roster, and lost to 7-5 Michigan, AT HOME. They were in a buzzer game with Nebraska, AT HOME. They couldnt even do it this season.

I would say you get 10-11 NFL draft picks with several top 100 we may can get thru unscathed, but its going to be hard with talent spread out more. Syracuse won 10, and the best passing offense in America, they were a bad matchup for us, Im not sure we would win 6 or 7 out of 10 against them hypothetically.

As of today's roster, how many Canes would be drafted in 2026?
1. Beck
2. Mauigoa
3. Cooper
4. Mesidor
5. Bain
6. Moten
7. Blay
8. Bell
9. Fletcher?

The final number would likely be between 4-7; therefore 2026 does not seem to be the year either unless we can beef up in the next portal window.

Y'all full of it. People was just saying Larry Johnson had lost his touch. Now Taint is elite developers. BS. They do the same as Bama, and Georgia. It's a numbers game with them.
Miami is just horrible in this area. Clemson is elite in this area, they don't give a lot of offers and they develop well
