Simple but telling stat

I watch these other teams and even with us closing the gap on talent we are really far off when I see these upper echelon teams. Not even the athleticism it’s just the size, the instincts, and they play mostly disciplined football. I hope we can get settled on defense and Beck is healthy because we have the talent for an ACC run.

There’s jimmy’s and there are Jeremiah’s. It’s the elite guys that make the difference.

Sure. But those other teams he listed didn’t have JJ Smith. They had the most NFL players. The elite guys make a **** of a difference, you’re absolutely correct. But Jayden Daniels was the best player in America last year. His team didn’t win ****. Michigan did, because they had the most talent. Not the highest of the high end.

He also had a murderer as a head coach. Psychopaths don’t make good play callers.

Miami has so much work to do in the spring window

Nowhere close enough to being elite enough to compete for National Title with this current roster

Stacking talent means stacking Top 50 talent every year and no whiffing

Requires elite recruiting that Miami is missing
Also player retention from going to NFL draft and being 3-7 round picks.

The 2 Ohio State DE's could have been top 100 picks last season, came back. Ebuka and Henderson both came back, both their DT's came back also. I feel like if they were at Miami majority would have left early. They had 8 senior staters on defense.

I can tell you now had Kam and James came back we make the playoffs.

Easy to say that after JSmith bailed the Buckeyes out - Domers had those boys on the ropes.

Yes, theoretically the team with the most talent SHOULD win…but there’s also something to having smart players who respond well to coaching (Notre Dame).

According to the NFL draft, yes Michigan in 2023 had the “most talent”. But according to the recruiting services, Michigan should’ve never gotten past Alabama or Ohio State….

So the key is developing the talent that you have - and recruiting the right players.

That part in the bold…primarily the final sentence. Completely changed our defense because even though Kam gambled, he would’ve made significantly more plays to help us than hurt us….ditto for JW20

With our 2024 team, we could have easily competed tonight with OSU. There’s not question about it. We can definitely have a top 10 offense in the country again. If the defense improves like we think it can, we can definitely be in the mix next year

We’ll see…. Everytime OSU got away from JS it bogged down… **** the entire reason they went on the run they did was because JS willed them there.

Special special player…. Been said over and over but he has been advertised. Cook was the last one to turn hype into substance from day 1
