in the current portal era, year 2 is huge for these guys. We got 2 incoming freshman DEs who are already bigger then him

So you're claiming Lightfoot is a "bust" because he, as a true freshman, didn't standout like fellow frosh Lofton and OJ?

Maybe the coaches want to play the NFL type SDEs over a thin WDE. The WDE kids (Pickett and lightfoot) aren’t happy to see no one get to the QB when they know they could.

Who are the SDEs?

Baron
Bain
Mesidor
Blount

They did play 11 a few snaps at WDE and Jack. They also played Bryant at WDE and he actually caused some pressure…go figure.

Seriously? How often do you see defensive linemen come in and make an impact as a true freshman? Bain was an exception, not the rule. Scott this year was a 5 star and got some playing time. Lightfoot is 6'5" and 230 lb and was 18 when he came in. You think maybe you can give him a chance to grow and develop a little bit before calling him a bust?

I know we as Cane fans live in a delusional world where we compete for the national championship every year, but come on. When Mario was hired we knew it was a complete rebuild project. Year three we won ten games. They have done a great job fixing the offensive and defensive lines and the running backs, wide receivers and tight ends. This year the emphasis is on the defensive backfield. Relax and enjoy the ride.

Can you READ? I said he was on the fast track to being a bust like Wayne and Moss. I didn't say he is a bust yet.
