Marlin Barnes and Bryan Pata are no different than Sean. Wouldn't be fair to retire just #26.

And much more tragic. ST may have been changing his life at the end, but his talent on the field far exceeded his conduct in his personal life.

I kind of like the idea of making it rotate every game. Like "who earned it" this week in practice gets to wear it on the defense. Might be a little cheesy but...I like it.

If you do that what kind of message does that send to Reed,Blades,Marion etc. You are saying in effect that he is the standard above all that he separated himself to be the best that ever played the position when in fact he was in a group of excellent safeties to play here.

No I can name 10 numbers that could be be retired before his. no disrespect to him I love him. He's the most physically gifted player to ever play at Miami but he's not the best player to ever play Miami or in the top 10.

I am with the Ed Reed guys, for as amazing as ST was, ED set the bar pretty **** high. ST was going to have to do what he was doing in the NFL for another 6-8 yrs because there is a guy ahead of him setting the bar for best safety ever and that is Ed Reed. No, his number should not be retired. I love me some ST dont get me wrong, but his legacy of being a great player is not that much higher than many of the other greats we have had here. He is like our Bo Jackson, we just wonder how great he could have been if he were able to finish his career.
