From Rivals on Shemar's visit this morning:
-Was on campus 3 hours.
Although he's been on campus many times, this morning’s time on campus was different.
In the past Stewart would simply park on the side of the road by the tennis courts and walk down the long, wide driveway toward the facilities where he’d meet a coach that would escort him into the building.
This morning - when he and Coach Moe pulled up to the Hecht center, a huge group of coaches and staff were outside waiting for them.
“The whole staff was there waiting, there was like 20 of them,” “They were excited, came up to our front door.”
Coach Moe and Shemar met first with Coach Joe, talking football and getting to know each other. Then they joined a larger group, including Mario, DVD and TRob.
“They talked about the changes coming to Miami, which is good to know, coach Cristobal’s expectations of not only his team but the facilities," Marquez said. "He (Cristobal) talked about revamping Miami to what Miami players should be and have.
“We were just building the relationship.”
As for the plan coaches laid out as it pertains to Stewart?
“The goal is to have him play as a freshman as an every down edge rusher,” Marquez said. “And maybe on third and long get him inside, switch it up a little, play wherever he gets the best pass rush every time.”
Shemar will be back the last weekend in July for his OV.
