It was his middle school coach who “helped” him with meals etc… so then he attached to his hip all through high school, recruiting trips etc… I can’t tel if this guy is just genuinely excited for Shemar or is hoping for a kickback financially one day.

Always hard to understand adults motives that are heavily involved in kids recruitments.

Agreed but this is also one of the marks in the pro column for coaching Miami. You can drive 30 minutes and visit multiple five stars in person or do what he did in the days following his press conference with seeing multiple guys per day. Drive 30 minutes to Eugene and you can find some world class wine, football players not as much.

Everyone thinks Bama has the best S&C program in the country. But it's because they're starting with guys that look like this in HS. If we can compete for the 5 stars, you get the Stewarts of the world that look physically different from their counterparts instead of the projects that are 225 that you *hope* put on 30-40 pounds after 2+ years in a weight room.

This is VERY true. MUCH easier to "develop" guys that come in already the size of monsters.

Going in home at midnight is light work.

This is what’s been missing here. All these coaches act like they can just show up here and put a U polo in and then kids will come.
How many coaches have probably said “man if I coached down there I could land an elite class”. And then they come here and recruit with the same energy and nothing happens.

Sofla is a blood bath of recruiting. Your going against the best in the country for these kids and you better bring it on the trail and on the field or you gonna get left with a hat on the table.
