It’s never going to be easy.

I’ve explained this probably a 100 times on these boards to deaf ears lol...

In order to recruit at Bama/UGA OH ST etc levels it will cost upwards of $25mill-30mill a year for at least 5 years straight in order to have a roster with 40+ 5-stars. TAMU cracked open the vault this class & have always recruited well, but this class & the next they’re upping the ante.

There’s an alternative, it’s not realistic to expect to be able recruit on those levels especially for a small program like ours that has never really spent money, but you can still find a way to win games & compete for conference titles with excellent evals, player development & yes the dreaded X’s & O’s (which I know yall hate lol)...

There’s a wide gap between the powerhouse programs that spend astronomical amounts of money & the programs that simply lean into their culture & place the emphasis on coaching their way to competitiveness.

Pitt doesn’t spend half the money that Clemson does, yet they still won 11 games & the ACC last year, same with OK ST, they’re not as much of a cash cow as Texas, TAMU etc, yet they still won 12 games & the Big XII, Utah doesn’t spend much money on football either but they still won the Pac-12, were they playoff teams? No, but they all had more success than they’ve experienced in years & they’re headed in the right direction as programs.

Miami fans just need to stop always trying to have a “Bama or bust” mentality, we’re never going to recruit on that level or be in the CFP every year like them either, but as long as we’re competitive & contending for the ACC on an annual basis that’s more than enough, it’s certainly a **** of a lot better than what we’ve been for the last two decades.
Agree with all of this bruh.

I would get visibly angry when we lost to these garbage ACC teams and would see a tweet after that showed the team had like 5 four stars and like 40 3 stars and we had the reverse.

Beat the teams we are more talented than and be respectable against the Bamas of world and maybe one year we get lucky and get a QB that can get us to the playoffs and take these ****ers down.

We can be better than Pitt because we have access to a greater wealth of recruiting talent.

I used Pitt, Utah, etc as examples to show there’s a middle ground between being Bama/UGA & Arizona/Vandy lol.

I wanna win Natty’s too, but just because we don’t win a Natty every year doesn’t mean it’s a fail.

I’ll take being a perennial 10-12 win team with top 10 recruiting classes over being a perennial 7-5 team.
As much as I had my issues with the process of hiring Mario if he can just get us out those seemingly monthly segments on college football shows talking about what a joke we are I’ll take it. No more random players from bad ACC schools throwing the U down on our home field. Give me sustained relevance. Then we can do the “why can’t we get over the hump” stuff

Those people aren't fans, they're groupies.

Yea I got caught up in the heat.

Hahaha a lot did and that’s why they were so emotional this morning. The believe the hype, crystal balls and insiders.

Who knows maybe Stewart shocks the world and picks Miami but folks got way too amped waaaay too quick and now want to crush Mario haha. They did it to themselves. I used to do it when I was younger but we all learned by now how this goes

Exactly homie. Brands matter. UM is a much stronger brand than TAMU. It has been for a while. In terms of brand staying power, Adidas typically will pay more than Nike for NBA endorsements but guess what is the top tier brand? Nike. We may not have TAMU money but if we win games and develop at a high level, and upgrade our facilities, we got this. We won’t need to overcompensate by giving 25-30 mil per class. We’re ******* UM. Everyone sees which players have been getting the gold jackets recently.. it ain’t been Texas oil or rancher money players. Nuff said.
Our biggest problem right now is the intertia of being a 7.5-4.5 program for 15 years. If we can string together two straight years of obvious progress, that inertia starts working in our favor.

We need to get off the blocks.

To act as if recruiting will be the same as it was in the past is dumb. Fans had every right to be excited for Shemar and they still do. Skinner FLIPPED from bama to us as he was telling Saban all week he was signing with Bama. Comparing the past to now like comparing apples to oranges.

Sure but that’s neither here nor there. Also, they are all in on Jimbo aka the cuck and I know people like to point to 4 losses but he did lose his starting qb and the year before did go 12-1 and a top 5 finish. ATM has never been a crazy dirty school, I say crazy because no school is clean. With NIL ready to roll, they finally can make the attempt to climb into the upper echelon of CFB. They were always in UT’s shadow because UT is the state school but look at the list. No school has more Fortune 500 CEOs than that **** hole, and it is a **** hole. They are ready to fvck right now. The way I looked at it, it’s better then than schools closer to us. Plus in the end maybe Shemar cucks Jimbo, who knows…
TAMU has always been the NY Jets of Texas. Texas’s “other” team. Ed Oliver would have gone to Texas if it wasn’t for Herman and what did Herman do? Bounce to Texas. The state of Texas is waiting for UT to get their **** together so they can dead all the noise. TAMU is like the the fat girl with braces and pimples with the rich father wondering “ will I ever be pretty enough”. They yell “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha” in terms of of UT. Yea, NIL will help and Jimbo gives them a punchers chance but with Baylor and UT chipping away constantly all they CAN offer is money to out of towners that don’t know any better.

Can’t blame Shemar if he’s got $1M lined up at A&M.

It's not $1M like that

People really need to get familiar with how these marketing deals are drawn up. They are incentive laden deals that have base payments (monthly) and quarterly performance metrics that trigger bonus payments. The deal is worth UP TO $1M. With that DL they are recruiting, I would bet $ to dingleberries that most of those kids wont hit the numbers (social media impressions, click-thru's, etc.) to get more than just the base payments.

In a few years, you'll get all of the sad stories on ESPN about how big bad capitalist took advantage of a bunch of dumb kids coming out high school.

C*cksuckers; the lot of them!

One has been reportedly bought for a long time and has a handler and one doesn’t and seems to come from a very stable family. Can’t compare skinner and Stewart

Word up. I think Mario gets us to 9/10 win seasons on a consistent basis. Kids see us taking over the ACC and beating good teams, we in that thang. Mario just has to consistently recruit at a high level and fix the OL. From there his coordinators need to develop at a high level. When we take Clemsons spot in the CFB playoffs, it’s take off baby.

Baylor will never be a power. UT will make certain of that.

Some of your posts in this thread should be pinned up El. I swear to fking God. I’ve said this before. Expectations should eventually be to win the ACC and keep your losses to 2 or less. You do that a couple times, the stars will align to be in the CFP one of those times. Then anything can happen.

Just getting on that stage again would be huge and pay dividends. We just aren’t going to create a mirror image of Alabama the way the system is set up.
