2022 Shemar Stewart goes A2M

But you go to A&M and sit for what a year or so? Jimbo has stacked talent along that D-Line and those guys have been waiting for their turn

Maybe. We do have to remember Jimbo has been on this dude for years now. Mario got here two months ago. That plays a role. I know these boosters are richer than I’ll ever be, but eventually these guys are gonna need results. Sure SS maybe worth this money today, but say he struggles for a couple years. Do the boosters keep this up? Personally I trust Mario to close the gap on a lot of these kids in time. I personally believe a full cycle and he probably lands this kid. JMO.

It will get way worse next year, just wait. This year i dont think anyone saw a school dropping $25M on a crooting class. A&M just bought the #1 class and set the bidding limit. Now EVERY school is on notice and will have to step up.

Texas offering $50K per OL? Others will offer $100K. Someone will offer $200K. etc.

A&M offering $1M per 5 star? What do you think Top 5, 5 Star QB's will start going for? $2M? $3M? etc.

Painful to say, but actually hope NCAA puts some cap or limit on this. Otherwise its just a full on bidding war w/ no salary cap.

A&M averaging $1m per player supposedly. Only six 5 stars committed iirc, so who knows what they’re paying them.

And those numbers will be cooked to help the home team. I’m just a lot more skeptical than you are and trying to be realistic.

I feel you on this but from another perspective….
Let’s say you’re Shemar. You’re being told by Jimbo that A&M is the best place for you, you’ll get playing time, we’ll give you this great NIL opportunity, etc… looking at the past two classes alone on the DL there’s about 10 4* or higher kids they’ve signed not including yourself. It’s one thing to bet on yourself because you think you’re better, but at some point you have to realize that there’s only a certain amount of snaps in a game and Ole Jimbo has made the same promise to you as he did to those other 10 DL players regarding playing time.
