2022 Shemar Stewart goes A2M

I'm not worried about the bags. My concern is that Shemar is really close to the TAMU commits. Class chemistry has become a bigger factor in the last decade as recruits become more connected. LeBron kind of kicked it off when he went to the Heat.

With that said, we have a great shot. Let's see how this weekend goes.
Not saying you're wrong but they have zero dudes from South Florida committed to TAMU. And one dude committed from FL (lakeland). Other than a recruiting trip and maybe UA game he can't be that close to them. He's been to UM like 10 times and most of our commits were there too. Anyway, like you said, let's see what Mario's got cooking this weekend!

Seems pretty straightforward. The optimism is gone and the new information is that we are trailing for Shemar entering the final weekend. We have some disadvantages we are working with that don't look like they will be solved in time. Now we get to see if our $8mil coach can deliver our biggest prospect when his calling card is recruiting. This is what we signed the check for, now it's up to Mario to deliver.
that new information you're referring to is the info coming from the UGA and A&M coaches right?

I mean no way they would think they have him

What do you mean he’s been disregarded by this school for 3 and a half years?
I mean Manny barely was recruiting the man. That's what makes this so amusing on here. When moe came out and said how he barely heard from Manny. He wasn't telling y'all Manny doesn't call me to kick the bobo. The process for underclassmen so coaches can talk to kids is he has to go through the coach. The coach sets up a call and when he's on the line the kid takes over the call. At that point it's the only way for a coach to speak to a kid. Plenty of coaches from that point will establish a relationship with the parents(didn't happen in this case either)as well and talk on speaker that way it's not technically a violation. But still common practice is through a kids coach. Whether y'all wanna acknowledge it or not shemar was not a priority here at all with previous staph. The reason we here now is entirely on Mario. The guy everyone seems to already be getting like hoes over.

Umm, you can connect with guys that aren’t from the same place you’re from.

Looks like you can officially remove JSU as a possible school. Just like Tennessee did with Gibson when they did a recruiting violation they won't continue recruiting him because if they do land him the punishment will be much worse

Everyone should go listen to the interview Manny Navarro did with an Oregon beat writer. They broke down the staff and provided a thorough analysis on the coaches recruiting history.

The beat writer said he was shocked to hear Joe was going to Miami with Mario. When you look at each position coach’s average recruiting ranking relative to the overall team grade, Joe was by far the worst recruiter on staff. He took it a step further, using the same metrics Joe was also the worst recruiter on Washington State’s staff while he was there.

It’s definitely something to monitor moving forward. However, even going back to Wash St. he’s had an all conference player/all American every year since 2015. He’s units produce. With Joe on Staff we’re going to need another position coach to pick up the slack recruiting.

Literally zero truth to this. None. Go read Oregon boards, Salavea was highly regarded, both for his coaching and recruiting. And sorry, but the #1 player in the country isn't committing somewhere without the position coach being involved.

And Navarro is a hack plus every Oregon beat writer came off terribly with their Cristobal meltdown. They absolutely would criticize coaches just out of bitterness.

I get it, people are in their feelings and are sure Mario won't land Stewart, a DC, or anyone else, but still, acting like Salavea cant recruit is just slander. Mario doesn't hire position coaches that can't recruit

Thanks for the insight. I felt like he was a top priority for us throughout but I’m not on the inside. It seemed like he was on campus all the time.

But don’t confuse what I’m saying. I love Mario and think he’s doing an amazing job. I’m definitely not in the hoe crowd on that one. Like I said earlier, I’m not expecting Shemar but would be very happy if we got him. But if not, I’m thrilled Mario got us in the game with Kelly and Moss.

Mario has already proven he’s the best recruiter we’ve seen at HC here. Atleast since I’ve been following recruiting.

This is where I am as well. Would be great to land him but not holding out much hope. Seems like the only thing that would pull on him would be staying local.

Criminal negligence by Manny and crew. Mario is doing his best I’m sure but sounds like ATM is offering everything the kid would want.

But he's willing to commit to a team that plays a 3-4 defense, which he supposedly doesn't want to play in

The DC thing just seems irrelevant. If he's considering UGA he clearly doesn't care about 3-4 vs 4-3.

We just saw the same type of claim with Coleman, then Coleman committed to a JSU team that also hadn't hired a OC (JSU just hired theirs last week).

Never trust what a recruit says to a reporter

Then why didn't he just sign with A&M in December? They were offering everything back then too.

I'm trying to understand how people went from confident to 99% sure he isn't committing here. Did something change in the past week?

TBH, I never really felt the confidence in him signing here. Loving that he is giving the new coaching staff a chance but we’ve seen how it goes with these 5 stars in the past. Coaches need to play the long game with kids like this and it just feels like there isn’t enough time.

I would love to be wrong though. Maybe he’s just creating drama for Wednesday.

All the A&M deals have been from 500 to 850 with a few guys getting close to 1m I think. My cousin got 600 and isn’t a consensus 5 star
Legit - what are they getting paid for?

Are these sham companies / charities that have been set up for unknown 18 year olds to put their face on the products of - like at Texas? They can't just be handed hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Numbers don’t lie dog. I’m just telling you what guy said. I went and looked at his primary recruits and it’s 100% true. You can even go back and look at videos of KT on why he committed. It’s was Mario and Hayward. Hardly any mention of Joe. Compared to the other position coaches on the teams the guys he pulled brought down the average of the group. There no back and forth with that statement. It’s a fact. You don’t have to like it.
