Shawn Davis

He's slowing down his recruitment. He's only really visited UM. Nothing to worry about though Shawn loves Miami and has bought into the early playing time and the opportunity to bring The U back. He also has 4 (will be 5 soon enough) Southridge teammates committed to UM as well as Florida Fire teammate and close friend CJ Henderson. Miami is looking just fine with Davis.

I understand what you are saying and I believe you know what you are talking about. That being said, these highly rated local kids who supposedly love the U and we hear "should commit any day now" have burned us bad recently. Now I'm not saying that I know a single thing about Shawn Davis and his recruitment. What I am saying is that we should be wary of these types of situations and not count our chickens before they hatch. In the immortal words of Winston Wolf, "Let's not start sucking each other's ****s quite yet!".

Gibson still confident. Note that Scott and Gibson are both very close with Davis.

* Gibson says he expects teammate Shawn Davis to join him in this UM class at some point.

"Shawn wants to commit but doesn't want to move too fast," Gibson said. "I think he'll be a Hurricane."

Did Scott slip on his 40 at the opening? A 5.0 forty isn't going to cut it at WR.

That's what they had listed on the Opening info.

Get beyond the first catch in Scott's junior highlights and you won't be surprised by that 40 time. You also shouldn't overlook that he ran 4.99 and looks outright slow in his highlights while measuring in at just 166 pounds.

We should be able to do better at WR.

We have to do better than that. That's way too slow.

Skill players running 5.0 fourties and weighing 160 lbs shouldn't get offers to Miami.

If Scott is so slow, why can't anyone catch him or cover him in the video? Doesn't he play against good comp?

What do you mean "why can't anyone catch him" when referring to Scott? He does some nice things in his sophomore/junior highlights, but he's not running away from anyone. Speed was always a massive question mark with him well before he ran 4.99 at 166 pounds last weekend.

Also worth noting that his junior statline was 21/270/2. Not like he was dominating the strong competition he faced, though it's been said that he was banged up last season.

Scott is possession or slot type not a outside bomb threat. He knows how go get it in traffic. Some kids separate against HS competion, in college you haveta be able to snatch balls against good coverage. Scott has shown that ability along with enough explosion off the line to get offers from bama, UF etc...it's not always about the deep ball. You need some kids like Mullins and Scott to pick up a 3rd downs in traffic.
