How is that being a diva? Scott was recruiting them & basically just stopped. Mario built a relationship & they went to Bama.

Coley was initially recruiting them & then for whatever reason Scott took over.

Tweed, I know you have inside information, but this all sounds a little far fetched to me. Scott has made his living off of recruiting. It's why TN hired and promoted him. Would he really F-Up with three Top 20 kids in South Florida?

p.s., Not questioning what you heard, just questioning whether or not it makes sense and is believable. Again, how could someone who makes his entire living (probably 1M a year now at UTn) off recruiting, ignore top local recruits? feels like rewriting history to me.

Woah so why did he basically hand his self to fsu when we brought in a legit staff and tried to give him a chance he could've been getting a lot of play time this season

As I recall they planned on announcing at SFE tryouts on a Sunday.. are you saying they were going to commit at school before that and Scott didn't show?

Here's the thread from back then. They were going to announce at the Fire tryouts, but then backed out of it at the event.

Not sure why people doubt the info that Tweed brings.

As for people trying to analyze the timeline and whatnot, I'm not sure why it is so hard to understand that there might be a difference of a few days between when a kid announces a commitment to a coach and when they announce it at a previously-scheduled public event.

And just because Larry Scott "makes his living" from recruiting doesn't mean that he can't make a mistake, or that he wasn't instructed to back off by Golden. Miami coaches recruiting in Miami is a huge positive, but it requires a lot of effort, because our coaches can visit a lot more SoFla players, but they also can miss appointments. Greg Mark got fired for missing his recruiting appointments (yes, there were reasons for it, but still...). It's very different if Mario has to travel from Alabama to meet with those players, I guarantee he won't miss that appointment.

We may never know the reasons, but something happened.

No disrespect Tweed but that's not how it went down. Maybe that's how it appeared. Their coach was on bamas payroll plain and simple. He is the one who ****ed up the visits and yes Calvin did get a car.

So they didn't commit because, our coaches didn't show up. That was weak.
 
I remember pretty specifically that they wanted to commit the day of a 7v7 tourney. We were all waiting for it - both kids were going to commit and all signs pointed to the fact that they were going to commit to us. Apparently, they were encouraged by their "advisors" that day to delay announcing. I have a pretty specific memory from that event but I suppose I can be mistaken.

Wansnt Calvin and SBB involved with that coach who got caught fudging their grades and resigned.

That was 100% the story. IIRC they even showed up to the event wearing UM beanies and "someone" talked them out of it.

They wouldn't have qualified. I find it funny how these guys like talking chit about my friends even though I've told them numerous of times

1) they wouldn't have gotten in

2) the staph wouldn't even show up to heritage let alone Monarch high

That's not how it went down and I know that for a fact because I was near it so if you could shut the fugg up about my friends, that would be fuggin great.
