This week, Miami extended an offer out to Carrollton (Ga.) cornerback Shamar Arnoux, who is committed to USC. The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder is originally from Broward County, so an opportunity to play his college ball in the Sunshine State is enticing.
"It definitely meant a lot because I'm originally from Florida," Arnoux told InsideTheU over the phone on Friday. "It would feel good to play back home."
"I do got schools trying to flip me. You got Colorado, Auburn, Florida State, Oregon," Arnoux said.
"They basically saying they like my speed and my physicality. There's not too many high school corners doing what I'm doing," Arnoux said.
"I'm going to go to the Florida State vs. Miami game," Arnoux said. "I know Miami got a good history of [defensive backs]. I got some home boys that play for them and I could see them developing." Arnoux knows starting safety Jaden Harris, who is also from the Atlanta area, and sees that he's getting better at Miami.
As far as other trips on the calendar, Arnoux plans to visit USC this coming weekend and will return for the Penn State game next month. Colorado is also on the schedule.
