Seniors draft status now?

Henderson should go highest. Everything tends to drift back to the beginning. He can do more things athletically than any of our linemen, including Flowers who I suspect will slip as that draft approaches.

Linder is a smart hard trying guard with some versatility, but when a tough guy like Brian Schwenke can fall to mid 4th round last year I have a difficult time projecting Linder above that level. But as always, it's predicting opinions and all it takes is one...

I had Morris as 4th rounder in that preseason thread. Now I think it's too high. An arm is not enough. When you watch someone like the UCF kid, Morris falls woefully short in all the important areas.

O'Donnell is the most impressive guy on the team in terms of how advanced he is. I'm not sure if it showed up on TV but he again had a punt spinning perfectly backwards in the air last week, when we needed a pooch kick. Early in the year I made the mistake of thinking O'Donnell was a freshman. I remember posting a couple of times that I was shocked at how poised he was. Somehow I thought he was a freshman from Cincinnati, not a grad transfer who attended Cincinnati. Once I found out the truth a month or so ago, it made perfect sense. We've never had a kicker or punter who is so refined. Big loss.

My problem with Stephen this season has been lack of a middle ground. It's either feast (big play) or famine (3 and out). We've had (or at least it seems) very few sustained drives where Stephen goes 5-6, 65 yards or something like that. I would love to know the number of completions and average number of completions on our scoring drives. I'd bet that number is low. Frankly, I think both Fisch and Coley were/are enamored by Steve's big play potential and have called games in that fashion which has led to us permitting D to be on the field for far too many snaps (83 in the country).

1) Tim Tebow was drafted in the first round so it's hard for me to be surprised by anything in the draft. Not to say I think Stemo will go high but surely he has more upside as a qb than an average h-back who could shotput a football to keep the offense sort of honest every once in a while.

2) Reading the comments it sounds like people think Linder is limited athletically in some way. Will someone enlighten me as to what that limitation is? He has the size, I thought I remember he strength numbers being good, and the buzz around him as a recruit is that we had great feet and speed for a big man (kicking 50 yard field goals barefoot and some other anecdotes). I know guards don't typically go in the first round and rarely in the second, but he does seem like the type that will be drafted in the first three rounds and play well forever. What am I missing here?

The problem for Linder is that physically he isn't going to do anything that makes a scout say "wow", and at guard, to be drafted early, you have to. Otherwise that is a position that you look for in the middle rounds.

Thing with Linder is....honestly the guy can be split out to tackle. He has benefits....as he has the feet to play tackle..and can man it up at guard. Linder actually can play center too honestly.

Those type are wanted by nfl ol coaches...Linder gives flexibility. Orlando Franklin does a good job split out for denver and he doesnt have the feet or reach of Linder.

Dude will go no lower than 4th...especially being a 6'4-6'5 guard prospect...that can play in zone blocking schemes. My dolphins should be all over him imo.

Their draft position will largely be determined on combine numbers where Morris should do really well i.e. Manning Passing Camp which bolstered his draft stock. I can see Fisch drafting him for the Jags

Some GM will fall in love with SM arm strength and his deep ball capability. There certainly have been way worse drafted in the 1st and 2nd rounds so it wouldn't shock me to see him jump up into late 1st to mid 2nd. His biggest weakness is his throwing under pressure. Everyone can blame his injury but throughout his career, he has been extremely inconsistent when rushed and that will ultimately hurt his ability to succeed in the NFL unless he is fortunate to get a great QB coach and a few years under a top tier experienced QB.

CBS:

Seantrel going in the late 2nd/early 3rd.
Denzel going in the 3rd.
Morris going in the 4th.
O'Donnell going in the 7th.
Hurns, Linder and Asante Cleveland as late 7th rounders/UDFA.

Linder's gonna make a team really happy if he falls to the 7th.

Kinda surprised Linder isn't highly regarded. Guess I was wrong about that guy. Thought he was a 1st to 3rd round guy. (at the latest)

O'Donnell is a beast. If I could have one senior back, it just might be him.

With that said, who punts next year?

May have been the MVP of this team, kickoffs in end zone, in on tackles and consistently changed field position on opponents. Sad commentary.

I dont know, I guess I sort of disagree with most of you on Linder. Ive felt he would go 4th or 5th round. He's a good guard, but doesnt have the "wow" factor. Maybe he will blow their socks off at the combine, but I dont think he's looked spectacular enough to go higher than 4th or 5th, not with his position.
