Self-loathing season started a little later than usual this year...

10-2 is great until you add the context.

We took our best roster since the glory years, and **** all over it. We won’t see a qb like that again, and based on recruiting results, we won’t see much of anything moving forward.
One subpar recruiting year and you are losing your ish, ignoring the fact that he's recruited at a high level throughout his tenure, even when he had limited time after his hire. Never mind the fact that you can supplement talent through the portal now, something that wasn't a thing back in the glory years.

Again, I don't blame people for being ****ed about losing to GT and Cuse(We should all be ****ed, this program had a legit shot to take the next step and a terrible defense ruined it), I'm just over the constant whining. People are already giving up on 2025, and we don't even know what the full roster will look like. It's exhausting.

I am one of the few that felt 2023 was a success. Record only mattered insofar as it affected recruiting. Top 6 class was what I was wanted before the season started and I wasn’t going to move the goalposts. We got an elite recruiting class, then got to spend January going back and forth on Will Howard vs Cam Ward as we were confident we were getting an elite transfer qb. Lots of reasons to be super optimistic after a mediocre regular season.

The pessimism now is that we expected that by year 3 we should see some of that recruiting talent brought in by Mario to start to make an impact or at least flash. Besides OL and RB, it’s not looking great. And then the recruiting class isn’t anywhere what we expected after a 10 win season. And looking at the list of QBs that are in the portal or may jump in, I don’t see anyone other than Mateer who can single handedly carry UM to 10 wins, and it sounds like he is off the menu.

I’m willing to bet u said these same exact things before we landed Cam Ward last season lol ..its a new age in college football & teams overhaul year to year u can’t make these type of statements without knowing what the transfer portal will offer, who knows maybe an uber talented underrated QB might look at what Ward did for his draft stock here n be interested in doing the same.. making definitive statements about the future is pointless the way CFB is trending now lol

Think of it like a dam bursting open. The mopers were banking on, at best, 7-5 since the end of last season. But Mario had his finger in the dam. They started off 9-0....and boy, were the mopers ****ed! The bile building up the whole time until finally, the **** poor defense that was evident from extremely early on in the season finally put too much pressure against the wall and the bile has been able to spew everywhere.

So, now it's "they ruined a great opportunity" - like this team was winning by 30 every week and poised to win the NC. Give me a break. The team did better than most everyone on here expected this year, especially with the worst back 7 on defense this team has had in years. It has 2 top 10 classes going into their sophomore and junior years next year and let's see how they do in the portal.

One thing is sure, schools can definitely fall off the face of the Earth quickly in this day and age. Just ask Michigan and FSU.

If it was so incredibly easy to go 10-2, we’d have more than two of those seasons in the last TWENTY YEARS. No one is saying that this season was a smashing success, but it wasn’t the unmitigated disaster our dumbass fans believe it is either. The program took some steps forward, but there is a ton of work to be done.

The question is can Mario build on this season by adjusting his staff and supplementing/upgrading talent both through the portal and within the program.
No other previous coach gets 10 wins this past season because they wouldn’t have these players. We would have a random coach going 6-6 with Corey Flagg as our starting safety. And our fans would say he’s an nfl player.

It’s exhausting dealing with our joke of a fanbase. I get that we are all frustrated with how the season ended, but 10-2(possible 11-2) hasn’t happened around here often in the last twenty years.

It’s sad, but there’s more optimism around 2-10 FSU and 7-5 UF, despite Miami having some young talent in the pipeline, and some **** good talent coming back. It’s almost like a fair amount of our fans are only happy when they are miserable.

You can look back on this season fondly and wonder what could have been without screaming the sky is falling in every **** thread.
You're into participation trophies I see

Mario had his t*ts in the dam and the "mopes" were telling you it wasn't going to stay closed but you sunshine pumpers kept telling us Noo everything is fine. Then the pressure was too much even for his giant man t*ts and the bile was able to spew everywhere. Now the sunshine pumpers are telling us again everything is fine and to trust his t*ts again

Talent acquisition isn’t the issue, what they do w the talent is.

Don’t worry. Nobody is losing their ****, and by the time August comes around we’ll be drunk on the kool-aid again.

This has been the program for the last 20 years. My kids have never known Miami as a good program, only the fables that I tell them of a time long, long ago. Sad and pathetic. Get a real head coach after he regresses next season
thank god for the dam 30 for 30 specials if not my son would think that I have mental issues with all my talk about us being winners in the past. Sometimes, I force him to watch then again and again with me. yeah, Im not too popular around here just like the CANES! FOK!!

I hear you, brother. People think I'm a hater. Not at all. My love for my alma mater is deep man. That's why I'm so incredibly disappointed with the finish this season. Also, because I've been around awhile, I know that this feels and looks the same as all the others. The Cristobal Era looks and feels the same as Shannon and Golden and Diaz eras and at this time, they all pretty much have the same record after three seasons. The message board infighting with the realists and those trying to convince themselves that we have "turned the corner." This is common and is also typical and happens right around year 3 of an eventual failed coaching tenure. It's groundhog day. I'm tired of this cyclical wheel. What will it take to finally break the dang wheel and really move forward?

Yea bro I don’t get it either seeing our fans taking a duce on our future and next season is frustrating but hey what can you expect seems like ALL Miami teams have the same type of fans who enjoy sh*tting on their team lol we go 10-2 n now the program is dead 💀
The 10-2 means Jack ****. Stop hanging your hat on that as if it tells you anything. We wont be winning 11 next year because we won 10 this year.

This team, who’s been irrelevant for 20 years, lucks into a qb that for one year could not only get us our first ACC championship, but maybe even an NC, completely **** the bed.

Our coaching is terrible , our players aren’t smart, and next year we are ****ed! And no, it’s not the boards fault. We aren’t gonna sit around lying to each other to give a false assessment to recruits. Truth is hard.

I’ll mail you a Canes 2024 10-2 tshirt to wear around with pride.

If you can’t see that a team can be 10-2 and underachieve or be 10-2 and overachieve, there’s no hope in even trying to explain it. We won 10 games against the worst schedule we e ever played, with every good team down this year. We also would have lost multiple games if it weren’t for our 1 year rented qb and Lady Luck. So whoopie, we got to 10-2 and completely failed to meet our potential! You must be so proud. Good teams get better. We got worse, or just ran out of luck.

This 10-2 in no way indicates it is something to build on and we will be better next year. Stop acting like 10-2 meets any kind of standard. Nobody will remember it. We will still end up in a terrible bowl. 10-2, 7-5, 8-4, same ending.

Since you so confident about it how much games are you projecting we win next year?
