Season opener

Call me optimistic but I think we beat down Louisville 38-14.

People forget that this is not the same team that we lost to in the bowl game.
Not only do they have a whole new coaching staff, but Louisville also lost 3 guys to the NFL this year in the 1st Round and 1 more in the 3rd. Our highest draft pick came 20 picks after their last pick and one of our 3 picks was a Punter.

They lost their top 4 players on the team… Our top players are ALL coming back this year.

Except for the most important one. He won't be there for the season opener.

That tall guy there in the middle of the pic. Him.

I actually think the guy next to the tall guy is the most important... we were undefeated until he got hurt last year.

I think the 2 guys above will make a difference this year.

I think the difference is not on the talent but holding his *** accountable during the off-season to get prepared. The kind of stuff our old school guys would do. This is where I think we will see a HUGE change in this team, we have TRUE leaders who will not take isht from other teams or team mates that's not putting in work because they have the talent to back it up. Duke giving up his jersey to get a guy with high level talent like him.

Really? You honestly think a guy who touches the ball less than 25 times a game is more important than your starting QB who will touch the ball on basically every single offensive play?

Makes sense.

:nelsonhaha:

Based on your logic our C is the most important guy on the every team.

And Yes, I think Duke is more important to the team than Williams; just as James was more important to the team in '98 than Covington. You are comparing a proven game changer to a potential game manager, both are important but I would rather have Duke on my team anyday.

And that's why your line of thinking is moronic. To somehow think that your RB is more important than your QB1. I thought I had heard it all on this site but this is some retarded ******* schit.

I can't believe I'm actually having this argument... We are talking about the importance of each player to THIS team not the importance of each position. Noboby is afraid of Williams, no defense will game plan any different for him. Duke is a player that defenses will game plan for and are can strike fear to defenses. Duke is also a respected leader who has already produced on the field. Williams has been a great teamate but has yet to prove himself in a real game.

Duke Johnson > Ryan Williams.... end of argument.

We had a legit shot of winning that Maryland game. I don't think we have a good shot at winning in Louisville.

As was stated we have 3 months to get his replacement ready, with experienced talent ALL over the offense. Also, the replacement was considered a better prospect. Our staff better have a game plan that does not ask the kid to do too much. I sometime question OC game plan. The DUKE game continues to stick out to me, RUN da **** ball, man, we win that game going away even with our horrible defense!!!

You are absolutely right on this one, the game plan needs to be simple and rely on the playmakers... the QB should be asked to distribute to the experience talent around him and not do too much. Keep it simple and gind it out with runs and short passes, get the ball in the hands of the playmakers and let them make the big plays. Portis, Gore, Johnson, Shockey, Winslow, and McGahee made Dorsey into a Heisman candidate. Duke, Yearby, Coley, Sandland, Walford, Gus, Lewis, Dorsett and Waters can make Olsen look pretty good as long he gets them the ball.

Tell that to Dallas Crawford and our O-line vs UNC.

Name ONE of our NC teams that didn't have stellar QB play....NAME ******* ONE.

******* retarded statements usually come from retarded people.

LOL at anyone thinking we come close to that sickening loss against a 1-11 Maryland team. Thart was actually a great Golden performance (we didn't get blown out). This will be a blowout.

Season opener, and season ender.

Wheels begin to fall off after the Louisville game. Golden's 4th year and losing to a 1st year coach will not sit well with many on Monday night football. This is a must win.

I love our players and I am very excited about 2014 class. I can't wait to see Chad toss his first oline on top of a QB. Duke will be back with a vengeance and this could be one of those games he wins on his own. It seems to me we have a ton of talent on both sides of ball this year. If it were not for our sideline I would be sky high over this season. IF Al got the proper message from the end of last season, that he is no longer ANYONE's fair-haired child, then maybe, just maybe, he has actually eaten healthy portion of his pride and made changes. If Al can go into this season with the anger and attitude he had for the swamp scum game then Monday night will be very pleasing for us. If not, it will not be a pleasant season until Chug is hired after the Cincy game. Say what you want, but Al cannot survive starting this season the way he ended the last one. 2015 recruiting will require midseason change.

All that said. THE U 35 loserville 24

THE ONLY 2 MUST WIN GAMES CIRCLED ON MY SCHEDULE......'VILLE & F$U.....DON'T GIVE A RATS *** 'BOUT ANYTHING ELSE....
