Searels looking to find the right mix at OL

It's almost impossible for the o line to be worse than it was last year. I cut Searles some slack because Kehoe recruited badly. However if the o line doesn't improve a lot this year Searles needs to be fired.

Haven't we seen that McDermott is not a guard? No coincidence the line played much better when they got Linder out and kicked McDermott outside.

The OL improved when Linder was removed. McDermott is a good player who will start at G and help us a lot this year. And he's versatile enough and smart enough to play T if we need him there. You guys are killing him for no good reason.

Come on. There is some justification. McDoormat is such a great moniker. Whether or not it is true.

I don't get the fascination so many on here have with McDoormat. He looked slightly better when moved out to tackle, but was still getting ran through the majority of the time. It's all on tape. Perhaps he will improve this year, but I wish people would stop acting like he's starting LT material; that will be either St. Louis or George Brown, with Donaldson in all likelihood starting at RT as a true frosh. McDermott will be a serviceable guard for us this year and nothing more.

Linder's weak *** being taken out/getting hurt was what saved the oline later in the season. It's amazing going back and watching games to see him get completely, consistently manhandled. DTs would often be in the backfield immediately after the snap. Of all people, ALEX GALL saved our oline, and that should say a lot about how bad Linder was. Don't know if he was playing with an injury all year or what, but I don't see that as a valid excuse considering almost everybody is dealing with some type of injury by the midpoint of the season. Many even playing with minor injuries all year.
