Seantrel

All this talk of weed.
What would the reaction be if Seantrel was late for a meeting or skipped a class?
Golden's not one for airing dirty laundry, so we will probably never know.

Really interested to hear Seantrel talk about the incident.

It's stupid to test athletes for weed. It doesn't help them on the field and a good coach won't play guys who aren't practicing and playing well.

Clearly the kid has had more than his share of problems. If he were not the mountain of a man he is and prossessed fo great talent, Al would have probably cut him lose long ago. Golden has been playing every management card in the book for this guy. Henderson comes around and seems to have it going on, so Al keeps giving him shots. Problem is kid continues some mistep. He seems like a good kid so it is a shame. I hope he can pull it together the res of the year. Like him or not, he is a beast on the line and it is nice to have him around. Even if Al keeps Linder at tackle, 6' 8" and a ton makes for one **** of a backup plan. I mean if you are a DE fighting with Linder all game and this monutain shows up to give him a break -- are you smiling? I don't think so.

Look man, your "argument" is a dumb one and everyone seems to agree that it's a dumb one.

So light one up and relax. It's not that serious.

It's ok to be wrong.

LOL, ok. It's dumb for me to hope that weed is not an issue on the football team; you know, since they can get suspended, arrested, *** up on the field, *** up in the classroom...

Yeah, you're right. I'm the dumb one here.

Well, except for the part about it being illegal, and thus should probably be tested for, I don't really disagree with you. If weed gets legalized, then you'd definitely be right.

Didn't call you dumb.

Your argument saying 2 positive tests for pot should get guys kicked off a team is not only dumb, but absurd.

But I don't think you're dumb.

I'm just going to post this rumor from the WEZ....

Wasn't weed btw.

From what I heard he was involved in a car accident on US1 where he was at fault and got in some sort of confrontation with the responding officers and was ALMOST tazed and arrested. Another player was also in the car with him, no idea who it was.

Oh, well that's good news then. Anyway, like I said, no one is hiring me to be CEO of a college football team, so the weed bags are safe. I would be very interested to know what AG's and UM's policy is on weed, though. I don't think that my hypothetical policy is absurd, but you're entitled to think that it is. I wouldn't want guys who I expect to be performing at their full potential, physically and mentally, getting high and jeopardizing the program, their performance, their freedom, and their future professional prospects. If that makes me wrong, so be it.

I disagree about the testing.

I agree with the bolded part, but you could apply the same logic to classroom and weight room performance. Poor classroom performance can cause a kid to be an academic casualty. But they do monitor those things because expecting kids to be mature enough to be self-regulating is a road to disaster.

If a particular school wants to test for weed because they think it hurts performance, fine, but that isn't why the NCAA tests for weed. And clearly coaches like Urban Meyer don't think weed has a **** thing to do with performance on the field.

I hope that's true because I'd rather see him fighting with cops and being aggressive than being a lazy listless pot head. If he was getting after cops that shows me some fire.

P.S. Like I said yesterday in this thread, we really have no idea what happened. I laughed watching everyone assume it was weed and carry on for 3 pages about the weed.

When my next harvest comes in, I'm gonna mail an eighth to Every player on FSU and tip off the cops

Hmmmm, I like it. However, mailing some to every player will be too obviously a set up. Just pick a handful of them, and make sure to scatter the shipments so they aren't all arriving at once...

This is between him and his teammates. Us acting all borderline personality disorder over it doesn't diminish his contributions to the team since he opted to come here by choice.

I recall that coaching staff saying that upon arrival, he was always the guy taking notes, actively engaged in film room, etc. as if they were shocked.
Welp, now we know why it shocked them: that coaching staff's gone, and Seantrel seems to have developed a stronger physical work ethic that probably languished and required serious re-nurturing. He violated rules and his teammates will deal with it as they see fit, but I'm glad to call him a Cane.
