Seantrel is back at practice

If healthy and with it...I think he ends up starting at RT and Flowers gets moved to LT to take over that starting role. have more confidence in him and flowers than Bunche.

Are we on the grassy football board? WTF?

It's a legit suggestion. Somebody will have to sit and all three are talented. On pure gifts I'd say Henderson and Flowers are the top two.

True Freshman and guy who hasn't put it all together over the "other" best Lineman on the team? And I'm being kind with SH. Seriously?

Henderson has played more than Bunche and is more talented. Flowers is as special as anyone in the team and I've been saying it since Spring. Again, someone has to sit and if Seantrel is on point (like Staybon said in his hypothetical) I could see any combination of the three.

Flowers is a grown *** man. I like Bunche a lot but it is far from crazy to say Flowers could overtake someone.

I still don't think I saw a tackle that was outright better than Flowers last year and as an EE he has tons of potential for this season.

i was thinking about this a couple of weeks ago and was thinking that Bunche back to OG makes sense. LT Flowers LG Bunche C McDermott RG Linder RT Seantrel with Feliciano and JJohnson as the extra dudes sounds pretty **** good to me

The kid has caused plenty of issues and has been the focal point of more than enough negative conversations and discussions. In a perfect world, it wouldn't matter if we had him or not, depth not being a problem.

Reality is that we do kinda need the guy. The healthy productive ideal anyway. I have to imagine that Golden and company have had this same discussion more than once, and if they thought the negative outweighed the positive, he wouldn't be on the roster any more. Truth is, we need him if for nothing other than strength in numbers. How many seasons do you remember where we never lost a lineman to injury somewhere?

That's a huge huge guard. Honestly though I don't think saying Flowers could start is a knock on Bunche at all. Linemen get hurt a lot and I think having three really solid tackles is better than 2. Besides that I think Feliciano at guard has all conference.potential I really do. Kid has made a name for himself very quickly.

Let me get this straight...you guys are trying to say that Flowers, a true freshman with absolutely 0 games under his belt should hop right on over to the LT spot and start his first CFB game in arguably the most important position on the field? Because you think he has looked great in preseason practices? Sure no problem... :diaf:

Cmon man...come the **** on!! Talk about over-hyping the freshmen...

Give this kid some time to grow...

You guys love to put the young kids on the tip-top of the pedestal only to shove them off by midseason after they don't meet your lofty, unrealistic expectations.

It's not like Bunche has a ton of experience at LT either though. He played some last year but if he was real good we don't start Figs at LT in the opener and we don't move Feliciano to RT and we don't move BWash to LT. He might have improved a ton, but looked stiff in drills in the spring when lined up against Cain. Had me cringing. I think he can work, but I think Flowers is just more of a natural - better movement. Now like DMoney said, its all about the hypothetical that Henderson gets with it - mentally/physically. That's a big if right now. But IF he does he's got the goods.

and I wouldn't even want a line up with Bunche back at OG. Feliciano got put in at RT over Bunche for a reason. And he played as good as any O-lineman before his injury last year. He's got a chance to be real good at OG. Bunche reminds me of an old Illinois OT Tony Pashos. He made it in the league and all for a while, but he was a RT all the way - even in college. If Henderson could play LT then could see Bunche really compete as a classic RT, but at LT I think he might be out of his element. And still gives me pause that he was at OT last year and they moved Feliciano outside to handle RT instead of Bunche.

SH has top 10 NFL draft type talent. anyone who says we dont need him is a ******.

our best bet is that he plays as soon as possible

yawn. and so did Forston.
If he ever gets drafted Top 10 then say it. Until then we've heard it all before.

If he has the right attitude, SH helps this team - hopefully him and EF work together - i dont know who SH friends on the team are, but this could keep SH for another year at all-conference player along with EF - Bunch and JJ provide good depth; if Bunch keeps his job all good, Feliciano shouldnt move - inside is set

The only negative issues Henderson has had was with you guys on a message board. Coaches had no problems with Seantrel. He was not even cleared to practice because of the concussion he sustained, so missing time to be with family during the death of some very close people was not a big deal.

Henderson is a 3rd year player and does not need camp. As a coach all you worry about is what kind of game shape Henderson is in. Meaning how many snaps can he play. Best believe come the Boston game Henderson will be playing.

Maybe you should re-read and comprehend.

No one is saying he should, but I'm not doubting he could. Big difference dude.

One thing gives me some pause for hope. Seantrel is still here. He didnt transfer and hasnt been booted off the team. We are clearly better with SH than without him, provided he is engaged with the task at hand. And thats the bottom line for most of these kids. I do wonder if SH is kicking himself now though for leaving SC for the U?

I mean negative issues in general. Can't help funerals and not getting cleared, but by definition those are negative things. ****, Golden himself said he needs to get right mentally (in so many words) before he can help the team. It may be all out of his control, lots of it is, but some isn't otherwise we wouldn't hear Golden say that. Clearly it's not all bad though, because he wasn't "ray-ray'd" yet.

I hear you city. I'm pretty much thinking the same thing. SH did **** up not telling coach about being late returning to campus the first go around though.

I have no doubt that he will be playing sooner rather than later. the guy is that good. the Marcus Forston comparison above is weak. SH would probably go in the 1st 3 rounds of the draft if he didnt even play this year

The guy lost weight and got stronger this offseason.Had a series of unfortunate events and now he's on the fan chopping block? He was a freshmen AA and got injured as a Sophomore. This is his third season and if you're a bust for having back surgery SM wont get it done.Let us wait this out.

I love that a true Freshman came in, got a chance and may not give the job up. Speaks to the kids work ethic and obviously his talent.

Are there any other 3rd year players that, in your opinion, do not need camp?

As long as Seantrel comes back and works hard from here on out we will be a better team for all of this. Flowers gets more experience. So does Johnson. Once the season starts all this will go away.
