scrmmage

Just got back from the scrimmage. D was dominant all night long. D-Line looked great. Linebackers looked really good (Perryman and Kirby). And a couple of standouts in the secondary (Gunter and Hope). The O looked ok. Not much running room and nobody really broke anything all night long as far as RB goes. Rashawn Scott caught everything and had a nice go route from Williams for good yardage. TE looks like a focus. Lots of bootlegs and naked bootlegs with the TE coming across the field. Williams was accurate and Crow looked good too. Great turnout. Very proud of my SWFL cane fans. We packed that place.

Thanks for the goods SWFL.

And to be fair to the O, Golden has said they didnt do much new installations since the first scrimmage. I'm sure the D had a good idea what was coming.

I thought Brandon McGee was very physical tonight. I think (hope and pray) he's gotten the message.

Listening to Coach D on the sidelines yelling at players is great. Hoillet was a frequent target of abuse. One example: "Dwayne! Dwayne! What the **** are you doing? Seriously! Dwayne!"

I was really impressed with the o-line pass protection.

Clements was Targeted a lot out of the backfield

maybe it's just the fan in me, but all the January enrollies that played looked pretty good

Dorsett tweeked something, and didn't see many snaps

Holton was carried off the field with a leg injury (lower extremity)

Crow looked pretty **** good, wasn't asked to do a lot, but made some nice throws

At one point I think they were pulling people out of the stands to play WR. The second team Wr's were, two walk-ons and Davon Johnson....lol

Good to hear about Crow, very underrated player IMO. Like what i'm hearing about the other incomers, i think these guys going to contribute a lot this year

D$, were you not there?

Luther Robinson seemed to tire as the scrimmage went on, but he was very good early. Porter was hella disruptive most of the night and Smith made several plays in the backfield.

Crow's got a VERY strong arm.

Running game was pretty rough looking.

Feel pretty good about our corners at the moment. I understand we don't have great WRs for them to go against, but McGee being physical is a plus. Ginter showed good ball skills. Hope's a big dude. Finnie looked good.

Mang, who stood out on the defensive line besides Chick?

Porter played well, made a few plays in the backfield. Grimble batted a couple balls down at the LOS. Like SWFL said, the LB's looked great. ****, even Ambrister (sp) made a couple nice tackles. I know you won't believe this, but Green was banged up again.

Left the field for quite awhile. When he returned, he had a knee brace on. Didn't notice if he ever got back on the field, but the equipment guys did give him his helmet back.

Tyrone Cornelius even made a few plays here and there. Kelvin Cain was in the backfield from the DE position. Hoilett had a couple of sacks from the end position as well. Gionni Paul was another name you heard called out more then a few times. We haven't had that read and react from the LB position in awhile. I also noticed the guys must have been working on their tackling. Very few missed tackles. I just hope it transfers over to the Fall.

Good point on the tackling, buddy of mine mentioned it a few times. Very few missed tackles.

Liked what I saw out of Williams and Crow. Williams has plenty of arm strength for the intermediate throws. Crow definitely looks further ahead than Dewey right now. Kirby had a nice hit in the backfield. He's got a presence out there...big kid. Perryman had a couple picks, one of which he returned for good yardage.

Eddie Johnson. Stud.

THIS

Keyed in on #44 all night. Dude is BIG, and plays fast with all the weight he's carrying, boy made a few pops, shocked if EJ doesn't see the field this year.

Gunter was making plays, had a pic.

Hope def has the physical side to him, get him some muscle and dude will be on the right track.

Qb's did alright, it was windy though.

Dline and backers looked much bigger than past years. The weight room has been good to these guys.

Place was packed, standing room only. Glad to see SWFL turn out so well.

And for my cool story, team bus passed me getting off the interstate, thought that was cool.

D$, were you not there?

Got stuck at work, hurting right now. Seems like the young quarterbacks were more comfortable this week.

Good to hear about Finnie and Gunter. As crazy as it sounds, I wouldn't mind either guy getting snaps as a situational safety. Need speed there to complement VT and RayRay.

I agree. Both Ray Ray and Vaughn were non-factors tonight though. Frustrating.

Not crazy at all... I think most people will agree with that. Imho having both Ray and VT on the field at the same time is a liability. Gotta see if Gunter or Finnie or one the freshmen can move over there and give us what we need.

Defense should be ahead of the offense so sounds good to me.

Love to hear that some of the young guys seem to be coming along.
