Schnellenberger rooting for FAU?

For everything Howard did for us, he can root for whoever the **** he wants.
I can still remember when he took the Miami job and "we're going to win a national championship in 5 years."

Sort of like Pellini saying, "in 5 years the Owls will win a national championship."

That's how ridiculous it sounded when Howard said it, but gawk **** if he didn't make it happen.

I didn't know that FAU was moving to the SEC...cuz thats the only conference that wins championships :quag:

before my time.... i only learned about him thru 30 for 30.

Good guy though, but ever since he left UM, on his own, his coaching career has been down hill.

He is still employed and paid by FAU as an ambassador at large for fundraising. You guys really expect him to say he is rooting against his employer? Really guys?

85% of the people in attendance won't have a clue who the guy is anyway. Your average wigger Canes fan doesn't know a gat **** thing about anything historical that doesn't pertain to hip hop.

I don't know that the number is that high. I would guess a good portion of that demographic are espn 30 for 30 U fans in which case they got at least a 15 minute lesson on the man.
that said, you could probably drop schembechler in the conversation and they wouldn't notice the error.

Are you serious? I only wish 30 for30 increased our attendance. Attendance is the same now is it was before that doc.

We owe everything to Schnells. The man was unbelievable gift as coach. His resume before he got to THE U was fantastic. NCs with the Bear, recruited and coach Joe Willie, coached Fearsome Foursome, OC for the Perfect Fins, NFL HC, and then turned the entire college football world upside down and created THE U. He is THE MAN and the finest of gentlemen. If he wants to pull for a team he started from nothing, he has earned it.

Who cares? This man can do whatever he wants and he still will be a complete legend at Miami and the savior to this school and city.

Shove another hard candy in his overly dry mouth and put him back to sleep.

I don't care who is writing him checks. If he's rooting against my Canes, then he can choke on his Metamucil.

One of the only times I've ever been star struck was when Howard walked into my high school's cafeteria and sat next to our football coach to discuss whatever two old white dudes discuss when they're sitting next to one another inside a school cafeteria.

The black guy that runs a 4.3?

Definitely not at that school. They were just old friends apparently. I'll never forget seeing him walk into that cafeteria in all his glory.

Not sure if I would have been a teenage girl at a Beiber concert, or Tim Duncan in the biggest moment of his life.

He was naked?

i'm not sure why he wouldn't root for the team that he literally built from the ground up. he's been involved with that program since 1998. schnellenberger won us a national championship and has never said a bad word about us, but that's his program in every way. can't fault him for supporting them.

Just as long as Howie is not on the sidelines I can careless.

Anyone remember the Louisville game a few years ago in Miami?
Schnellenberger was there to honor both programs and spent a half on each teams sideline.

The first half Howie was on the Canes sidelines, and the played like *** the whole half. Petrino did what he wanted offensively and Miami could not stop them.
Second half, Miami down 24 - 7 and Schnelly goes to the Cardinals sidelines and then Hester went Hester

Next thing you know Miami battles back and wins. Coincidence? I think not!
