Which was the report on him in HS, just as those in the know like you said even though he is talented, he wasn’t as good as the fanbase tried to make him and was not a plug and play player his freshman year. Also, from my understanding the scheme he played in HS basically allowed him to play back yard ball and just out athlete everyone which was going to make his acclimation to the next level longer.

This right here. Sure if you have elite upon elite talent, it helps a ton but this board in general has really accepted this false notion that coaching doesn’t matter. It absolutely matters in CFB and lack there of can and will ruin a talented player who most likely up to that point not gotten any really coaching.

What's the thought on Lyle as feature back next year? I know hes just a true freshmen but he didn't flash like I thought he might in this game. Fletcher is solid tough back but do we consider getting another caliber guy like Martinez? Maybe need to use funds elsewhere?

The kid looks like he has the tools to be a very good in the box safety. Hopefully he gets coached up.

his ability to get to get tough yards was crazy ... spinning it in our favor we can now add that we produced a 1000 yard back as well as a heisman candidate qb via this oline ... i think lyle is gonna be good, he's only gonna get stronger/better
