He says two members of the Selection Committee visit with his office every week during the last games of the season..... You have to assume this happens with the ACC too?
As well he should. That’s his job. Unfortunately the last two guys in that role for the ACC have zero conviction, presence, or foresight.
Sankey cares nothing about college football - only about his conference - if the CFP could be SEC only he’d take it. Could care less what this dude has to say
Yes. When I heard that CFP committee members spoke with him weekly it really made me angrier about the response of Phillips. I would imagine all conferences had the same courtesy. We already knew the ACC was without a strong leader; this just added the exclamation point. As well he should. That’s his job. Yeah, that worked in 2000 didn’t it? Cost Miami a chance of the national championship.I miss the BCS computer picking the game

They will not allow two ACC teams. Does t matter who or howESPN is going full stroke mode
They just had Sark, Kirby, Saban jackin each other off about how hard the SEC schedule is
It was disgusting. ESPN controls CFB
But with 12 teams (and it will no doubt grow - these things only move in one direction) an algorithm or AI selection makes far more sense than this Star Chamber nonsense. They could not have come up with a worse method - unless they just let the B10 and SEC ADs choose - than this clown car crew:Yeah, that worked in 2000 didn’t it? Sheesh...why the **** are so many athletic directors on the committee? Wtf do they realistically know about football. Also, their jobs to their school entail so much attention to all sports, I doubt they can focus fully on the entire landscape of football. But with 12 teams (and it will no doubt grow - these things only move in one direction) an algorithm or AI selection makes far more sense than this Star Chamber nonsense. I have always been a proponent of playing your way in. No voting. Sometimes this is a problem when strength of schedules differ, but that can't be helped. The current 12-team format is better but limited by politics when picking the bottom 10-12. This was inevitable, and would be the same with 16 teams and selecting 14-16.But with 12 teams (and it will no doubt grow - these things only move in one direction) an algorithm or AI selection makes far more sense than this Star Chamber nonsense. I think they'll end up with a 32 team bracket - eventually. Two teams would play 5 extra games, four 4 extra, eight 3 extra. Too much money to be made not to do it, and they can drop the last pretense regarding "student athletes".I have always been a proponent of playing your way in. No voting. We'll see what happens when the current CFP contract expires.
My prediction is the SEC and B1G poach a few more teams, hopefully Miami among them, and the two conferences becomes 'Tier 1' of college football. The remainder of the ACC and Big 12 are 'Tiers 2-3', along with some G5 teams.
Far too many games in my opinion. But your point is taken.I think they'll end up with a 32 team bracket - eventually. Two teams would play 5 extra games, four 4 extra, eight 3 extra. Too much money to be made not to do it, and they can drop the last pretense regarding "student athletes".
