Sandland ?

This can be a top 5 offense in the country if Sandland and Collins show up.

Probably a top 5 offense even if they don't.

Disagree. Having a bruising back to spell Duke, and a legit freak down the seam in Sandland would push us up there. Without them, top 20, IMO.

I might be the only one who thinks this, but Collins is not a bruising back. We are not talking about a 235lb pile driver here. Dillard's bigger then Collins. We do need another RB, strictly as a complementary back right now and ideally as a redshirt for the future.
I'll admit Sandland looks good, but does he look as good as Walford looked the last couple games of the season?

I'll say it again, if we constantly need freshmen to be studs for us to be successful on a national level, then we are just dreaming. We have to get back to redshirting darn near every freshman and letting them get bigger, stronger and wiser.
Duke is one of those exceptional freshmen, but those are far and few between.

As our team sits right now I'd be shocked if we weren't a preseason top 25 team. I'd take being ranked 25 and work from there.
We have to be the favorite to win the Coastal and if our defense cane just be a top 50 defense next year we are going to be a very
dangerous team to face.

Our Biggest need in this class for NEXT year is getting another capable running back to spell DUke. I dont think the guy necessarily needs to be a bigger back with a pounding running style. It just needs to be somebody that is capable of carrying the ball 10 times a game and that is more talented than Eduardo Clements and Danny Dillard.

Might not be **** but I think our biggest need is that *** kicking Aussie Punter. I can't remember if I've ever seen Goudis kick, except maybe a kickoff out of bounds. I hear we have walk on kickers but I haven't seen them.
God help us if another team, knowing our lack of kicker/punter backups sends a scrub out there on special teams to knock our kicker senseless.

We do need another running back but I wouldn't cast aside Dillard, Clements or Crawford quite so soon.

Fapping HARD at the thought of Olsen throwing bombs to Sandland for TD's...ripping the hearts out of teams. FAP

Walford did step up his game towards the end of the year, but he is not a natural pass catching TE.

Sandland is what you want when looking for a threat down the seam. He is going to suck guys in and blow by them. His routes are going to be effortless. He will be able to take the catches that Walford struggles with and make big plays out of. Sandland will take those safeties out of their game, and it will allow the deep pass @ a lower risk.

In other words he will do what Walford started doing the last couple games of the season.
I'm not knocking Sandland. I think he's going to be good. Right now we only have Walford. Sure we have Cleveland and Dye, but I can't even remember if Cleveland caught a pass this year and I know Dye did because I was shocked when he held onto the ball with those cinder block hands. We definitely need someone to step up as a second tight end.
I will also definitely admit that Walford's first 10 games made me want to throw up, but his last 2 games he looked great.
I think Walford might have flipped the switch.
Let's not forget Walford is 6'6" 250lbs. That's a big **** out there who can definitely take safeties out of their game.

Clive is a natural pass catching TE. He averaged 18 ypc. LOL He might not be the best at it, but that is his natural role as a TE. He took another step this season. His numbers were very good for a TE in an offense that played numerous receivers. I'll be pleasantly surprised first if we land Sandland and second if he starts over Walford.

Clive Walford 25 451 18.0AVG 65 (TD) 4TDs

Edit: I double checked Clive's status he is listed as a Redshirt SO.

Walfords a TE, that doesn't make him a natural pass catching one.

Avg yards a catch don't mean jack. **** i can point out that up until the USF game he had 18 catches for 217 yards a 12 yard avg.

The 7 catches in the last 2 games for 234 yards made his stats, and your claim that he is good @ the position.

We have had the privilege to see some of the best to play the position wear orange and green.

Being able to drawn LB in @ the LOS, and blow past them.

The ability to run routes effortlessly, and make catches without looking awkward, and turning them up field.

To be able to drawn safeties in to the seams, and force them to make a decision.

We have seen the names that could do all these things.

These guys had great games all year long, and demanded game planning.

Sandland is not being recruited to come here and not make an impact from day one.

He will do, and give this offense what it has lacked @ the position.

Juco's are recruited for the now, not later. If he can't make it past Walford on the depth chart.

The coaches are wasting a ship period.

Walford is good, Sandland is first 2 round type talent.

Want both in two te sets.
