Someone please, tell me what the starting 5 OL looks like next year for Van Dyke, Citizen, and Chaney. Lol. Because right now I have too many pieces...

RT - Francis Mauigoa (6'5 330) --- Matthem McCoy (6'6 310)
RG - Zion Nelson (6'5 320) --- Anez Cooper (6'6 340)
C - Javion Cohen (6'5 315) --- Jakai Clark (6'3 310)
LG - Jalen Rivers (6'5 325) --- Jonathan Denis (6'3 320)
LT - Samson Okunola (6'5 315) --- Chris Washington (6'7 300)

I don't know how the line up will go, but ****, we sure do look good on paper as unit right now

RT - Transfer --- Francis Mauigoa (6'5 330) --- Matthem McCoy (6'6 310)
RG -Transfer --- Anez Cooper (6'6 340)
C - Javion Cohen (6'5 315) --- Jakai Clark (6'3 310)
LG - Jalen Rivers (6'5 325) --- Jonathan Denis (6'3 320)
LT - Zion Nelson (6'5 320) --- Samson Okunola (6'5 315)

My opinion, you bring in 2 more plug-and-play OL from the portal, make Maui and Honcho EARN the snaps. Yes, I do think they could start right away. Very different bodies than Nelson or even Ereck Flowers as a true freshman. But we saw that starting freshmen too early hurts their development (Flower, Henderson, Donalsdon, McDermott). IMO, it would be a win/win and much better to bring them along more slowly.

Shaping up to be our greatest class of all time in the internet era at least. I don’t count 08…

08 was still wild wild west internet days. So I def wouldn't count 08 as the internet era. I miss 08, now everybody and their mother on this *****

Kinsler might be the most under ranked player in the class. Dude is absolutely enormous and he is pretty athletic and not carrying bad weight. He’s a big time recruit in his own right.

He's like Collins. Not enough snaps to rank him more highly. But the sky is the limit. Both could be Day 1/2 kids if they bloom. Just high beta.

This has to be the GOAT class for a .500 or sub team ever though.

“Technically” w/o hindsight being 20/20 & knowing what we know today, the 2008 class was #1 overall, after a 5-7 2007 season. But, of course if 247 had the updated parameters as they do now, that 2008 class would most like be a top 10 class vs. a top 3 or better yet, #1.

What’s going today is not just Ruiz; it’s the fact that Mario is one of thee best recruiters in the game. His transparency is infectious & viable, and he’s got the ultimate sales pitch any coach can have today: hope for the future. It’s exactly how Saban turned around a dreadful 2007 season, after a failed NFL career; it’s how the greater majority of coaches after yr 1 r able to have that bump yr. Mario can easily point to his accomplishments as a player, as a GA, as a AHC at Bama, as a HC at UO, & the players that he personally recruited or coached that got drafted & say, “Hey, this is what I’m building here…look at these plans for the campus, look at this 3 yr goal, 5 yr goal, 8 yr goal, & u r apart of that goal.”

The idle, complaining fan who lives in misery don’t recognize that; fortunately for me, I’ve had plenty of lil homies & relatives recruited. I’ve been on campuses, I’ve been apart of their conversations, I’ve seen them commit to some places that made total sense, & others that made no sense. I gotta lil homie right now, at a high profiled CA school who I just talked to & he’s thinking of going somewhere I don’t approve of, b/c they sold him & his mom PT, a future, a community to grow his NIL.

That’s y I don’t get shook at the rah rah news. I fully trust Mario in this dept; he’s been around some of the best coaches to ever do it. Now other things, like clock mgmt & his OC, yeah….but, not recruiting.

Say want you want about Mario on gameday but man can he recruit. It’s not just the bags although that plays a big part. Mario has a history of being a tireless and relentless recruiter he enjoys what others like Lispy hate.

If you don’t commit on building the hogs up front nothing else matters.

I seen it happen at other programs which disproved that myth. And I expected 4-5 losses this season….I said even if Saban coached we would lose. The roster was trash, now we will slowly start to see real Miami talent like the old days. Cormani and these boys may not see a title but on their way out UM will be close to winning one. U need to stack stack stack and we will be fine.
Oh they gonna see a title. The Portal is gonna make it happen. Major surgery we are doing now, can see results like USC who did that last offseason when we didn't
