Never trust someone solely focused on money. Mario needs to hit the portal anyway for a ready to start LT that’s already been playing college ball. Samson is a project and icing on the cake if we get him.

Mario needs to close this for many reasons but the portal can help cover up misses in recruiting like never before

don't get me wrong, i want samson

but in this age, why don't we just hit the portal hard with our budget every year specifically for OL and DL? portal kids will have had excellent tape against college competition, be physically ready, and typically guaranteed to start.

or we can drop huge bags on high school kids that may never pan out. I say we at least do 50/50 on both the OL and DL each year to keep experience and physically ready bodies manning the trenches

edit - not to mention the likelihood of them transferring again is minimal and the likelihood of someone like samson transferring has to be at least 50% or greater with how he views NIL and his brand

I thought that was true 6 months ago, but that Jaden had just signed with a different rep. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I can ask someone who knows.
 
I watched the interview and Newberg is so clickbaity. Chad Simmons repeatedly said it was a UF/Miami battle and avoided Newberg trying to lead him into saying UF leads for Samson

I just remember being told that in passing , regardless they’re a legit threat with the money they‘re throwing around. Osu never worried me , it’s been UF. Just like I said with Rashada. I still think his brand building is better at UM but straight cash is always nice too.

That’s all they could do. UF has catching up to do. If he somehow announces he’s taking it to February then it’s probably going to be a battle but as of now he’s committing in 2 weeks.

But with the Gaytors, I always worry about the crooked cash.
 
We’ve been in the lead since May but he hasn’t committed? How many red flags are we going to run through? I’m over hs recruiting lol you can make an all conference OL just by going to the portal. The game is changed

Stop. He always said that if he didn’t commit In the summer then he was taking it to December. There was never any red flags.

The positive about that is that if we land Samson it will set off a flood of Gator Tears crying about how "we came in at the last minute"

Lol. "... may be in the best position to land." Best position to land is already a qualified statement. It's already not saying they're landing him, just that they're in the "best" spot right now (which is clearly an opinion). But he adds that "may" in there to further qualify a qualified statement, making the whole statement all the more desperate and weak.

It's like saying "of the dudes trying to fvck his wife tonight, Newberg may be in the best position to fvck his wife" instead of just saying "Newberg is in the best to fvck his wife tonight". The qualifiers create additional doubt, making it seem as though there's a real good chance someone else is plowing Newberg's wife tonight.

"I feel he knows where he's going," Toussaint said. "I think a place like Ohio State, a visit there coud be significant, but absent that I feel like he knows where he is going and just waiting to tell people."

He made official visit to Alabama, Miami and Michigan State in June, and he made recent unofficial visits to Miami and Florida.

Okunlola plans to enroll at a school in January.”
