S. Morris

"Fine" is a nebulous term. Didn't look "fine" when he couldn't walk down the steps without assistance.

I actually didn't think he looked at all bad going down the steps. He didn't look as if he needed help - more like the staff was just taking the utmost precaution with him. I had a really bad ankle sprain in college, and Morris was moving a lot better than I did at that time.

High ankle sprains take forever to heal. Hoping its not an ongoing, nagging injury.

Anyone who plays fantasy football can tell you a high ankle sprain takes a month to heal. That's how long runningbacks are out with it. Maybe a QB could come back a bit earlier

We'll see if it affects his play. When he was dinged up last season against UNC and FSU it was bad. His throw's were erratic and spotty. If he's not 100% don't send him back in coach. It's about the player's I care more about Morris getting over his ankle then anything else. It's not the popular answer but player health comes first to me. I'd rather him take a medical RS then to come back and look like he did against FSU and UNC last season.

I'm not saying that because of Ryan Williams. I've been a Ryan Williams supporter though, I know better than to judge anything off one game. Better yet, to judge anything off of Savannah State. To those talking about Ryan Williams what's wrong with dinking and dunking opponents down the field? Lot's of teams do this. Every play we get doesn't have to be 40+ yards for a TD lol at some of you guys even making that notion.

I'm starting to wonder if this team would be better off with Williams anyway and I'm not joking.

Same here. NOT saying to make a switch, just saying it's a valid thought. Williams looked good.

its savannah state. last time we saw williams against real competition, he looked scared to make plays against UNC

Are you one of those dudes who focuses on one negative play or one tough appearance under bad circumstances and think that defines the player? Were you one of those dudes who never let Brandon Merriweather live down getting run over by Quincy Wilson when Brandon was a 175 pound freshmans?

no but thinking were better off with williams than morris bc williams looked good against a sacrificial lamb is knee jerk.

I don't think we're better off with Williams, although I think Williams is a good QB who will be our starter next year. I just hate to see our fans dwell on one bad performance and think that defines the player. This guy is better than he was last year just like every player should be.

Your interpretation is different than mine. He looked like a 90 year old granny trying to get down those short stairs. I hope you're right that it's nothing.

Stephen Morris told confidants this morning, upon his arrival for work in the Miami training room, that he was doing fine. As you'd expect

I don't expect him to say anything else but if it was more serious I don't think we would be lying about it. He might miss USF because we could beat them with no QB but I don't think this is very serious at all. Might of been tight at first but loosened up but now feeling better. We have no idea but I think overall it's all good news. We will see soon enough.

More on Morris: Contrary to rumor, he was most assuredly not on crutches today.

Haha, there isn't a single person in the program that thinks Williams > Morris.

Amazing what lighting up the worst college football team in America does to our fans.

For those Miami fans concerned that their starting quarterback’s injury may have been worse than what was initially thought, you can rest easy.

Stephen Morris suffered what was originally described only as a lower-leg injury in the first quarter of the Hurricanes’ 77-7 laugher against Savannah State. After leaving the game, the starter did not return.

Updating Morris’ status Sunday, head coach Al Golden said that the junior suffered a bone bruise and not an ankle sprain — or even the dreaded high-ankle sprain — that some had feared. Golden said Morris is “absolutely” expected to play in this Saturday’s game at USF.

Ryan Williams, a former starter at Memphis before transferring to the ‘Canes, replaced Morris and completed 11-of-13 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns.

UM's medical people are the best. Apparently they gave Morris another year of eligibility.
