While I agree, the drubbing of UF feels like an eternity ago given how this season has progressed. IMO, that was the most complete game this team has played all season. Injuries have hurt, but the regression (particularly on defense) has been real. Recruiting has such a "what have you done for me lately" dynamic. NIL not withstanding, UF ended the season hot and is selling the future. UM, meanwhile, has very little to sell at the moment. It's hard to pitch a 10-win season when you have a Heisman-caliber QB leading the charge and you still miss the ACC Championship Game. Factor in the dynamic that Ward may have played his last snap at UM, and the negative recruiting will be out in full force. I'm still hoping UM can close. Opinions have been mixed on Stubbs this season, but we badly need an infusion of talent in the secondary. Hanks and Pickett seem increasingly less likely. Losing Stubbs would be a significant blow.
