The same reason many of us were excited about the Steele hire in the first place…I'm sure he's not going to let one year of his Steele's system with a team that quit think the guy all of a sudden forgot how to coach defense.

But also they have a long time familiarity because Steele has had a couple stops at Bama and any DC he hires is basically his co-DC

Wish we had more top end commits but gotta say, the 3star evals have been pretty **** good and ahead of the curve.

In the past had to try convince myself the back half of the class was not a bunch of JAGs. Now after watching the tape I am almost always pleasantly surprised and want to keep them in the class.

So we had "multiple guys ahead of him on the board" and "higher priority targets" but this kid was pursued aggressively and ultimately flipped by Bama.

Our safety class as of now is Dylan Day, Isaiah Thomas, and Ryan Mack. Do we really view our 3 commits above this guy?

Tallahassee and Tuscaloosa are about the exact distance away from Phenix City - 3ish hours.

If he was staying home he would have went 40ish minutes up US280 to Auburn

I get what you're saying nonetheless. That Bama offer has MAJOR pull in state no matter where they're at.
