Russell Athletic Bowl: Miami vs 16 West Virginia

Last few bowl games we were the favorite and got destroyed. Maybe this will be different

I hate eSECpn as much as anyone but it's hard to get upset at them picking a 10-2 team to only beat us by 1 pt. Speaking of 10-2, I'm looking at their schedule and it almost seems to be comparable to what we SHOULD'VE been with maybe swapping their losses to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State with us maybe only losing to FSU and VagTech or something. The overall difficulty seems similar though. That said, mark me down for a prediction of Canes 31- Mountainqueer Inbred Couch Arsonists 23.

I do not see a Vegas line yet but with WV at 10 wins and being ranked 16 they will probably be a slight favorite. Maybe -3

Last year, I predicted ESPN would have to fire hundreds of employees because they mismanaged their business so badly. I got that one right.

Wow, predicting Miami, the unranked team who hasn't won a bowl game in a decade is going to lose is really staking their reputation on the line. Canes 45-28.

When I was watching the bowl selection show yesterday they had us as the second biggest favorite of the non-new years 6 bowls.

Exactly. They've lost hundreds of thousands of subscribers in like the last 6 mos. The sad thing is that a viable alternative refuses to emerge though. Fox Sports has decided to just double down on eSECpn's failing approach by offering the same type of nonsense with Bayless and Cowherd all day. And while it's a welcome respite from SEC slurping, one can only take so much Pac-32 coverage too.

At least fox sports doesn't insert politics into there programming

Fair point. I'm sure Whitlock does but it'd pale in comparison to the days on end of social justice themes that eSECpn seemingly runs with.

ESPN's own power ratings have the Canes at 16th and the couch burners at 21. I guess ESPN's power raters are a different bunch than ESPN's line makers.

Their prediction isn't outrageous in the least. They won more games, they are ranked 16th, etc. The prediction isn't crazy, but I do believe we'll win. The D is playing great and will be rested up and ready to go. Mark has figured out how to work with this offensive talent. Searles is drawing the most out of the OL talent we have available. Barring an unexpected injury to a key player and/or a rash of TO's, I think we win this one.

Nobody should be surprised

as said before... un-ranked and haven't won a bowl

On paper they have the better Total offense ranking and we counter with the better Total defense ranking by about the same YPG difference between both teams.

For this game I like being the underdog... keeps me ****ed off.
