She did what university presidents have always done at Miami...viewed the team as free money, not as something that needed to be invested in. I'm not saying she didn't hurt the situation, I just think it's a mistake to think everything was fine and she f**ked it up. We had a history of not spending, and that was going to catch up no matter who was in charge. We were already losing the race, we just didn't realize it yet.
I agree with this. The "arms race" that is college athletics went up several notches in the mid 2000's. We've never tried to keep up and it coincided with the program falling off. She still sucks though because she went along with Manny, Sr. to rid us of the OB.

That's a misunderstanding of how we got here. Miami has never supported it's football team, but in the past coaches were able to get past that. Today they can't. Sure, Donna failed to modernize and change with the times, but she's not the reason we're here. We're here because past Miami leaders never prioritized football so it never became a central part of the university culture. At OSU or bama, most people think the university exists to serve the football team, and Miami's never felt that way. Football never became a thing you just don't f**k with at Miami. ****, Tad never gave a sh*t about football, and it didn't start with him either.
Whatever Donna, Its was on you.. Your time is over, GOODBYE

I used to have this perspective, but how long could that go on without seeing the results across the country? That is bad leadership. To think poor Larry Coker was going to right the ship after all of his rivals became flush with cash is lunacy. To think any of these coaches woth no Power 5 HC experience had a chance with no budget was flat out hanging them out to dry. Richt showed up and was like, “Seriously? Here’s a $1M. Can we get some more money???”

What is it her business anyways? Does she live in Coral Gables? Maybe she does. Does she still work for the University.

I remember meeting her at a team/fan event in Boise at the Micron PC Bowl. She actually uttered the words " we are proud to be here in Boise"

Again, I'm not saying she wasn't part of the problem. I'm saying it's simple-minded to think we were going to be fine but she created a problem.

Think of this. At other big football schools, when somebody realized they could use tons of money to buy a great team there was no opposition. Everybody had come from rabid pro-team families and had grown up loving the team. They had no problem spending whatever they could find on winning. Meanwhile at Miami, at least half the board actively hates football and the presidents have never been very into it. So who was going to approve of more spending? I think it would have been a very charismatic leader who could have brought the university along on that spending spree. And while it might not be common knowledge, donna's not a very charismatic person so...
