Ruiz addresses Shalala

I support Ruiz. However, I think his best shot is Tropical Park or next to Marlins Park where the Beckham group was looking to build the soccer stadium once(the orange bowl site). Don't know of any other site that is closer to campus that works besides that. Maybe somewhere in South Miami...idk though.

That's a misunderstanding of how we got here. Miami has never supported it's football team, but in the past coaches were able to get past that. Today they can't. Sure, Donna failed to modernize and change with the times, but she's not the reason we're here. We're here because past Miami leaders never prioritized football so it never became a central part of the university culture. At OSU or bama, most people think the university exists to serve the football team, and Miami's never felt that way. Football never became a thing you just don't f**k with at Miami. ****, Tad never gave a sh*t about football, and it didn't start with him either.
But she is the reason Miami didn’t keep up with the times. Back in the Independent and Big East days, Miami was not this far behind in salaries and facilities. Then joining the ACC, did she bump up the budget to be competetive in the conference? Or did she spend the absolute bare minimum and collect the shared revenue?

pulp fiction i dont remember asking you a goddamn thing GIF
Considering the character in your gif has a wallet named "Bad Mother ******", I find this strangely appropriate.

I like that this guy doesn’t take no for an answer. On his podcast he made it clear that he was flexible on the site but that one way or another the stadium would get built.

What I take out of this is that he’s working to get this going and is basically slapping any negativity out of the way. This is a breath of fresh air compared to the last 20 years.

I find myself strangely attracted to this man.

She did what university presidents have always done at Miami...viewed the team as free money, not as something that needed to be invested in. I'm not saying she didn't hurt the situation, I just think it's a mistake to think everything was fine and she f**ked it up. We had a history of not spending, and that was going to catch up no matter who was in charge. We were already losing the race, we just didn't realize it yet.
