FWIW: sorry I took awhile to pass along this info, but over the weekend I had a chance to talk to 3 of Richards teammates from Wellington HS, one of which is close friends with his younger brother Mark-Anthony Richards (who is a stud btw, ran for 1,000 yards this past season as a freshman). Won't give names but I asked them a few questions regarding their own recruitment as 2 of the 3 are signing with D2 schools, after talking for a few minutes I asked what their thoughts were regarding Ahmmon and where they thought he would sign. The general consensus among the group was Alabama and without hesitation I might add. They said its been Alabama for quite sometime now, I then asked one of the individuals would you be shocked if he chose the U? he laughed for a second and said "Ahmmon would've had to do a complete 360 for that to even be a possibility". Don't shoot the messenger because this is a 17 year old were talking about, and I know kids change their mind everyday but this wasn't the news I was expecting. Fingers crossed he still winds up in this class but coming off the heels of an OV to Bama it isn't looking good. Just wanted to share some local info.

Family liked Golden and they love Richt and wants him to stay close to home. Similar situation to Chad Thomas a couple of years ago. Like Chad he stays home.

If we Miss on Richards and No DT and no OT we lost at recruiting this year mayne.

Would love for this to be true, he's can't miss.

Would be a real loss if we don't get Byrd and Richards. IMO were not too bad at DT with Moten, Willis, and Jenkins. Those are all good players. And this year we were never going to sign more than 2 OL because we got a lot last year.

As you should, thats what I've been going off the past few months. Just thought it was strange that not one of his teammates even hesitated before answering Bama.

From bama 247

-Bama made a move for WR Ammon Richards but Miami still has a solid lead. But according to one source he’s more open now to leaving South Florida than he ever was before. He visits Tennessee this week so the Vols have a chance to shake things up even more.

I've been avid that I thought he ends up in this class, maybe they were feeding me bull**** but either way I was just trying to pass along some info from people he played with. All I know is that when I played ball in HS I could tell you where my teammates were going way before they played the "hat trick"

I believe Richards is at best a 50/50 chance for Miami but losing him won't be the end of the world for Miami. The real loser could be Byrd because Richt was (I assume still is) a great Offensive Coordinator and Richt's offenses are passing oriented. Alabama doesn't have a Brad Kaaya throwing the ball; Miami seems to be a sure 3 year road to the NFL for Richards.
