Ricardo Williams??

Let's not get carried away with the not Miami material. Kid is a redshirt freshman, he may need some time to develop, he was rail thin when he came in. He might not be as good as some had hoped he would be, but he could contribute in a 1-2 years as a situational type player.

Highly rated (4 star, no?), but was definitely going to need time to fill out and develop. Not sure how much hes going to contribute this year, but I'll assume we'll see him in towards the end of the year.

He's a redshirt frosh who weight 200 pounds when he came in. A DE in this system has to get MUCH heavier than that. He can rush the passer tho.

As long as he contributes on special teams and a few snaps here and there I'll be happy. Kid has 3 more years here to grow and learn some technique.

Still one of my favorite guys. Completely ignored by Shannon, he was on his way to being a Nole or Tar Heel, and Golden came in and made him a priority.

Really thin when he first got here, he's put on a lot of weight; may still be adjusting to the carrying the additional lb's. He'll be a contributor, IMO.

He's gonna play a lot unless he gets passed up by Hoilett, Hamilton, McCord, and O'Donnell.

The best evaluator of talent Butch Davis wanted him. Good enough for me. Similar size profile to Barkevious Mingo of LSU coming out of HS. Mingo took 2 years before he was big enough to play at a high level. Williams was slightly lighter so imagine 2-3 years.

Interesting, but Butch Davis wanted him, and there aren't too many better evaluators of defensive talent then Butch.....

He's got athleticism and first step quickness/suddenness, at least that's what I saw at Homestead, and there has to be a reason AG targeted him early on; I think the weight thing is what's holding him back.....

Putting on 50 lbs in less than a year is not always a simple task. Maybe he added the weight and now needs to transform his body. Maybe he hasn't adjusted to his new body and is a little awkward right now. Maybe he just won't be as good with all the new weight. No one knows.

He is only a redshirt freshman.... but I think the best he can be is a serviceable back up, and he aint even at that point yet. Dwayne Hoilett came during the spring this year and blew past him immediately. We have Jelani he is going to be a force, and Tyriq who is a better prospect than him. If we get Tim Williams in this class we might not ever see Ricardo on the field until 3 years from now.
