Remembering Willie Williams

Wasnt he knocking on doors selling gym memberships, and if they werent home he would walk around back and break in?

His capers got progressively less elaborate as time went on. Had he not been framed on the gym membership/home invasion scam, his next caper was going to be showing up at someone's door with a giant oversized Bugs Bunny style mallet and just bonking them over the head when they answered the door and then walking in.

Flatlined.

I'll pay someone to post that pic of Willie in prison garb sitting in the courtroom with a giant lobster claw. I can't find that pic anywhere, and it's fugging gold. That ****'s a Rembrandt.

crazy to think of my next door neighbor tellin me of a dude that just came in to his school and took his spot at DE named Willie.
Kid was a beast from day one at Pace, chilled with him a few times back then...have thee same friends he did...but dude just was stuck on making bad choices. His younger bro has played at Lsu with no problems though, and Jermaine Grace is his cousin.

He was a **** monster but in addition to his behavior problems, he wasn't that sharp on the football field (he wasn't really a dumb kid if you ever talked to him though). I know somebody who played with him at Pace and he told me that Lavon Ponder used to have to tell Willie what to do on every single play.

i dont know about all that.
- Randy didnt mesh well with him as he didnt with arthur brown. dude just didnt like 5 star lb prospects for whatever reason, he was locked in on under radar guys like himself. He played glen cook ahead of willie, and even offered cook b4 beason...who everyone who ever watched chaminade play knew who was the manchild on that team.

-Pace was pretty loaded on their defense when willie was there. Ponder probably did some..but Willie mainly blitzed anyway. Pace had about 8-9 div 1 prospects on their d with willie.

Well yeah, but all Willie really knew how to do was blitz. But he was a monster at it and would have been better off in the system we run now for sure.

Jermaine Grace's goon rating just went up by relation.

iirc, WW got >1000 in the SAT or some crazy thing like that.

he would go HAM in our current d in that hybrid role...because thats what he played at Pace and Carol City. iN FACT cc SWITCH TO A 3-4 D for Willie as they had two other div 1 lbs at the time when he transferred.

I always think..had he not listened to everybody and stayed...or if randy wasnt so stuck in his ways dude would of made something out of himself here a um. We had the best program for him at the time and best support system. He would of made it to the league in my opinion.

Yeah he wasn't dumb at all...after a spring game once he stayed for a while and was talking to me and my dad and he was clearly a bright kid.

He stole 300 of those points.

Willie - hit the guy who has the ball on this play

Willie single-handily changed the NCAA recruiting laws

Miami keeps changing the game.
'91 Cotton Bowl - NCAA creates rules on excessive celebration
Willie Williams recruitment - NCAA changed the rules of recruiting visits.
not old enough to remember, can someone please explain how the recruiting rules changed because of willie

I don't think you're allowed to give out jerseys with the recruits name on it or broadcast their name on your stadium's jumbotron anymore, among other things.

I still remember the awkward situation he put the canes in. his juvenile records were sealed, and after his visit to Gainesville where he had three misdemeanor complaints filed against him (I'm sure they wouldn't have seen the light of day if he had committed) the truth about his record came out. UM was maligned by the media for recruiting him. the haughty sportswriters of the world overlooked the fact that every program in the country was recruiting him. and then we stood by our decision and honored the offer we made. it was a no win situation for us and the kid never manned up and responded in any way to show how grateful he was that anyone still wanted him. sad case of wasted talent, but also really showed the media's hypocricy.

Funniest WW pic...nice hat lobster boy. Does anybody have any highlights of him? **** he was an animal in high school. Easily the best player on the defense that had Kenny Phillips and Ricky-Jean Francois...but easily the worst college player out of the 3 lol

You take a kid with Willie Williams 10/10 times. Sometimes they turn into Willie Williams, other times they end up All Americans. I'll never forget his recruitment, he made Chief Keifth look like a choir boy.

I don't have the claw pic and I am not a photoshop guy, so someone else can do the honors.
