Amazing the hate for a team people say they like.

Did you hear me say anything negative about our players and team?

You've only heard me beitch about our Head Coach and Dorito. Both idiots.

In fairness to Mark, they really did need to start from scratch after 2011. Even last year, many of the guys we were depending on were in their first or second year. Combine that with average upperclassmen and you got yourself a **** stew.

Fair enough, ROK, let's for a moment say Golden started bad.

In the normal progression of football everywhere else, you either get better over time, or you get worse over time. So we go to the start - the Maryland game, and then we go to the most recent game - the UL game. Three years in between. That's a fair period of time to measure progress.

We suck just as bad as we did three years ago, we still have no gameday adjustments, and we still have a terrible defense with zero gameday adjustments.

But between now and this time next year - we're supposed to completely turn it around?

I'm not buying. Someone's going to have to show me.

6-6...7-5....9-4 looks like progression to me..?

This is faux progression and has been detailed ad nauseum. Schedule has gotten weak. End of story. Lets beat some good teams.

Sorry, no matter how you try to spin it, 6,7,9 is progress. 2012 team doesn't beat UNC on the road in a Thursday night game. They don't beat UF either. That's progress.
OK, so they lost to down the stretch to solid teams without our key offensive players like Duke and Dorsett. **** happens.. Especially when you have roster issues that couldn't absorb the hit of losing players by not being able to replace them. This year he will. If Duke gets hurt, we got players to step in and soften the blow. Ditto with losing any WR. Depth is not as big a concern as it was the past 3 seasons.
Obviously QB is still a concern.
And I'm not really sweating the UL game.. LIke mentioned above, we were out our best offensive players. Plus Golden used it to get young players who hadn't really seen much game time prior to the bowl game some needed experience. WHile UL kept their 2 deep in basically the whole game. Golden was thinking building for the future while you mopers still dwelling in the past.

This is horse*hit.

"Golden was thinking building for the future . . " Are you serious? Now you're really reaching.

If you saw the game, there was no thinking by Golden the entire game, nor apparently, during the entire month preceding the game.

That kind of BS rationalization may fly by the other eighth graders in your class, but not here.

Without question, one of the most asinine of your porsts, which says a lot.

First bowl game for the majority of kids on the roster and the first for many since the ND Sun Bowl beatdown, and Golden's entire abortion was aimed at building for the future and getting young players experience?

That dumbfvck of a coach had the audacity to reference the NCAA investigation as a reason why the team played so poorly. UL absolutely dominated Miami, and he passed on kids that played for Louisville (see James Burgess Jr.).

But no, this was all about gaining momentum. Nothing generates momentum more than being humiliated in your first bowl game in two years. This is the WOAT.

Sounding angry and being disrespectful toward coach Golden doesn't help support your poorly thought out post. I know you probably think it does but it really doesn't.

And it's not a question, Golden was totally using the game to get younger players like Grace, Carter, Hamilton, etc needed experience.
Tell me what other game besides Savannah St did you see Golden put in the younger players so early in the game for the amount of time they played? I'll help you out.. There wasn't one.

But I know yelling screaming cursing is easier to do for your kind than actually looking at things deeper than what they initially appear.

Show me a link to the source of that quote. If he says it all the time, then there should be plenty of links.

Just so you know, this took me all of 5 seconds to look up. Nothing against you Dingaan so don't take this the wrong way, because this is more in response to someone else who kept trying to make me do all the work to prove him wrong without doing any research himself to prove he was right, but I swear people on this board are lazy as ****. I could understand if it was difficult to find, but literally, the first link that came up was this article. I can also understand people wanting evidence provided, but again, this one was beyond easy to find.

http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/20...l-golden-defensive-coordinator-mark-d-onofrio

I didn't say he never said it. But it was posted as if this was just spoken. The OP left off the link - maybe because it was from Nov. 2012? Taken in the context of the 2012 season and who we had to give playing time to - and why (early defections), the comments are right on target. I agree with what Golden expressed in that article at that time. I thought it was a little disingenuous for the OP to not provide the time context. If Golden had said that after the 2013 season, then he would you have something.

Also, it wasn't a matter of me, or you looking it up. I sort of wanted the OP to post the link.

And, this in no way excuses the defensive failures of 2013.

We should of been getting better every year not look like the same **** for the last three year. You can pull your head out of the sand any time you want to.

Dude. Seriously. What you said about Golden using a humiliation on national tv being a "building for the future" statement is as ridiculous as they come.

This is Al, right? I mean, you're Al? You gotta be Al.

Without a D line we will suck forever, is it the coaches fault? Yes But until they can get some good D linemen they will not be good, doesn't matter who is coaching the team.

"You are what your record says you are" - Bill Parcells

I find this to be the most fitting of quotes for sports. In this day and age with all the advanced metrics and fantasy football and madden raitings, everyone is obsessed with trying come up with a objective order to things. I care about one thing, the WINS and LOSSES. We have improved, it's that simple. You can come up excuses about the conference being easier now or whatever but it's all nonsense. **** changes, that's just how the world works. If you wanted to get THAT in depth you could poke holes in comparing anybody. FACT: Al Golden has IMPROVED every season. What are you gunna say when we win 10 games this year and have our first 10 win season since 2003?

Larry Coker - 12-0, 12-1, 11-2, 9-3, 9-3, 7-6
Randy Shannon - 5-7, 7-6, 9-4, 7-5
Al Golden - 6-6, 7-5, 9-4

One of these things is not like the others.
